It annoys me too but I'm old enough to remember when Bitch was nothing but a bad word. When Gaga uses it self-referentially it's not in a derogative manner... the OP however, is, and that is what makes it a bad usage. 95% of the time the term is used, especially as in the OP, in a way that is meant to be an insult or degrading to woman, rather than the 5% of the time women use it themselves as an empowerment choice.
