Huhuu @Harry @Bad Bromance :tea: your hot tea made me sweat!

I don't understand the view of the OP. If you know the forum and Gaga's fans in general, you wouldn't be excluding such a large portion of them by assuming everyone is in the pop stan culture.

Gaga has never (yes even during TF and TFM) been the typical pop girl. Her origins have always felt a bit underground or a bit alt/hippie. And that's why she appeals not only to the pop music fans, but also to people whose musical background is totally different. Just last week on a party I made a heavy metal (lover :hor:) hard rock fan jump on G.U.Y. I didn't see him enjoy Miley or Bey. So I hope you get the point. Gaga has carved a niche for herself in the pop landscape. For worse or better she is the outsider. She is the girl (woman already ) that spent 3 albums worth of time to prove that Pop will never be low brow. I don't record pop girls brining a concept to so high levels of importance on their albums.

She started off by portraying the perfect life of the pop celebrity. She was embodying this illusion until it became a reality. She won the hearts of millions. But then she took a U turn with BTW. Pop girls stay in their own lane for much longer.

Another source that proves we should never consider Gaga as a pop girl is the collaborators that helped her for each album's sound. With TF (and shortly before it) and TFM her surrounding was decidedly pop/R&B. RedOne, Flo-Rida, Wale, Beyoncé, giving songs to Pussycat Dolls and Britney. With BTW she pursued that rock and dance fusion with sounds from the 80s and 90s and she worked with Garibay and DJWS. The result was an eclectic record. With ARTPOP she worked with a bunch of DJs - Paul, Zedd, Madeon, David Guetta and made her music worthy of the biggest EDM festivals. Then she worked with Toni Bennet and made a Jazz record. This is a true chameleon and well-rounded talent. It cannot be diminished to a "pop girl" status. The biggest change you could see in the pop scene is switiching wigs or changing hair colours for next eras, more revealing cleveages, and changing pussycat wiskers for bunny ears. :grr:

I think Taylor took her place, while Katy and Rihanna remained stable

So the new trinity is Rihanna, Katy, Taylor in that order. Meghan, Selena and Ariana are coming strong but they are on a lower level. And Adele is just above everyone else, in a league of her own.

So she is below the trinity, but above the new crop of pop girls.

Rihanna can't even sell 1m albums tho. Both Katy and Taylor are higher than her in terms of success. And it's not even close

Woah hold on, why would i be here if i didn't like Gaga? My question was if you consider her still as a main pop girl, then i clearly said who i consider as a part of that group, Britney was there, even though if her last album 'flopped' she still did more than Gaga, and also achived more than Gaga, i couldn't agree with you when you said that she isn't one of the main pop girls or that she doesn't belong there. However, no one outside the US follows (SuperBowl, The GRAMMYs & etc) Gaga might took the spootlight at least in the US with these performances, but that doesn't make her more relevant or unrelevant. I do respect your opinion, but i can't agree with some thing that you have said. Unless she makes music as she used to do, people will consider her as a 'flop', i think that she dedicated to much time for tributes & side projects, things that doesn't really affect her career in terms of music.

How did Britney achieve more than Gaga with Britney Jean? :emma::emma:

No because she is no pop girl. Se is THE pop culture in person : she represents even today the pop culture from the past and from now !

Get over it, she is no regular pop star : she is a rockstar such as Bowie in the 70's, she is an artist

So the question is : Do You still consider Gaga as the main pop girls? My answer would be 50% yes - 50% no.
There's no doubt that she's in the process where she's trying to recreate her image, with tributes, pefromances such as The Sound Of Music, David Bowie & etc, and we can see that half of the GP has seen the 'good side of gaga' which is her talent, but what happens next? She hasn't released any new material since 2013. its been 4 years, from that era and she only released 2 music videos, which is bad for name such as Lady Gaga in the music industry, she had 'weak sales' if you actually compare it with her previous albums. No new album details available. In terms of streaming she's one of the weakest performers out there, for example we have Ariana's 'Dangerous Women' Audio on VEVO which outviewed Gaga's Venus promo single in 5 days, we have Meghan Trainor music videos where she clrearly outviewed half of Gaga's videography, not to mention names such as Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and even Fifth Harmony.:(

PS. I'm so positive that Lady Gaga will break her limits with LG5 when it comes, to streaming and views.

I want you guys to express your opinion on this thread as a simple person who follows the music industry, not as Gaga Fan. :)

The thing is she faded from the pop scene when all sorts of promotional stunts were at its peak

Im pretty sure Gags will keep up maybe even break records with LG5

She knows it and she wants THAT. THRONE. BACK.

No.

And anybody from outside this fanbase would laugh at this question :usrs:

Let's be real, when was the last time she did something in pop music ? Exactly 2 years ago ?

Taylor Swift is the main pop girl right know. Comparing Gaga to her right at the moment is absurd. When she finally releases that single and it stays on the charts, then we can talk about it.:koons:
