"Verderosa would not confirm or deny the suspect’s identity as Dawson, but said the perpetrator was known to police thanks to a previous incident at the Capitol. On Oct. 22, 2015, Dawson yelled “I’m a prophet of God” from the balcony of the House of Representatives."

"We believe this is the act of a single person who has frequented the grounds of the Capitol before," Verderosa said.

Law-enforcement sources identified the suspect as 66-year-old Larry Russell Dawson, from Antioch, Tenn. Sources said he had a realistic looking pistol-type pellet gun.

Dawson was previously charged with disrupting a proceeding of the House of Representatives in October after he shouted about being a "prophet of God," sources told NBC News. He is also believed to have a history of mental health issues, the sources said."

In January, after Washington D.C. court officials sent a letter to his Tennessee address notifying him of an arrest warrant, Dawson responded with a letter describing himself as "a Minister and True Prophet of God."

 

"I have been called chosen and sent unto You this day," the letter says, adding: "Therefore, I will not comply with the court order, nor will I surrender myself unto your office. No longer will I let myself be governed by flesh and blood, but only by the Divine Love of God!!!!"

Is calculated to influence or affect the conduct of government by intimidation or coercion, or to retaliate against government conduct; and

Is a violation of one of several listed statutes, including § 930(c) (relating to killing or attempted killing during an attack on a federal facility with a dangerous weapon); and § 1114 (relating to killing or attempted killing of officers and employees of the U.S.).

You know what, Oregon militia standoff fits perfectly to FBI's definition of domestic terrorism too, yet you were all arguing they were not.

So it just seems like the label is used only for one specific group of people, no matter what, who never suffer from mental health issues.

Yes, I'd say it fits the third one the best (federal crime of terrorism)

However, it would be domestic terrorism if it was politically motivated (meant to impact policy). He seems to be using religion and I read he was a minimum wage activist? 

So could be either one of these. 

But then again I'm not exactly sure about all the details of this incident.
