Whispering 18,865
One song was developed as a possible radio single from a mainstream album release and is attached to an album era and has a major label that is promoting it as such. The other song never was a radio song, wasn't developed to be one, isn't attached to an album era or even a popular soundtrack album and isn't backed by a major label as such. StrawberryBlond 14,874
When a song isn't part of an album, of course minimal attention will be paid to it. Plus, it's a very serious song about rape, so that's a topic that's problematic when it comes to be played on radio and suchlike. Like it or not, the song can be seen as a real downer to many, a bit too sad to be listening to the radio. I feel disappointed that more people didn't pick up on Demi's singles and album because they were great, so if they're getting some success now, I'm pleased for her. Come on, if the situation was reversed, you would think differently. If Gaga had put LG5 out and it wasn't taking off, she couldn't even get a top ten hit and she was just starting to get a bit of surprising attention for her third single, you'd think it was great. If another singer had a stand-alone song out, you would be annoyed if it was doing better, right?
