If it is part of their culture and all culture is deemed equal and valuable then why are we imposing our views for them to stop. Where should the line between ethics and morality be drawn? Is this another kind of Westernization that we want them to adapt by removing these "barbaric and inhumane" practices? I would make the argument that culture should never come before human rights. Westernization is a good thing if it's protecting people from oppression. Then they changed it and now you also gotta ask or they will assume you dont want to do it. the way i see it, the foreskin helps protect the tip of the penis and preserves sensitivity that aids in sexual pleasure. The only advantage of getting cut is more cleanliness but if your not a pig and wash regularly there that isnt an issue. I read that men and older women did this to their wives and daughters because they want women to not cheat. There was a famous survivor who wrote a bestselling book (I forgot the name, unfortunately) who wrote about her village doing it because they want full control over their women. A woman that is taught that female genitals are for reproduction only will let the men impregnate her easier and basically be less resistant to oppression.
