If it was just these types supporting Trump, he wouldn't be winning the GOP nomination and wouldn't be so far ahead. Unfortunately, many of Trump's supporters are teachers, lawyers, business people, etc. from all walks of life.

Of course, the radical racists are going to be for Trump. What's putting him way ahead, though, are the average citizens...ones who would never condone behavior like this.

I kind of hope that those normal people would open their eyes and realize how dangerous his rhetoric is and how he's only adding fuel to the fire, inciting violence and excusing racists among his supporters. He said he told his people to "look into it", about paying fees for that racist cowboy, who punched black protester to face. The fact that he excused him with "patroitism", is unbelievable.

Don't those ordinary people have friends from minorities who are often target in these hate crimes? Aren't they afraid about their future? I'm just wondering.

Of course they do! Some of them are minorities.

Here is the bottom line. A US President can not be a dictator and that's what everyone knows. The President will answer to Congress. The government is set up on a foundation of checks and balances. Therefore, the people can vote for a candidate without worrying that they are going to do something so far off the path that it endangers the country.

These people are voting for Trump because they believe he can bring back a time where good paying jobs were plentiful and where they can have the same standard of living they had ten to twenty years ago. They are willing to overlook (or rationalize away) the parts they don't agree with, because they are thinking about themselves and their immediate wants and needs.

Trump voters also include people who are tired of the government and the fact that it has been in gridlock for years. They want something to be done about the fact that everyone owes someone and those someones owe someone else. They want it to be a government "for the people", not "for whoever you owe a favor to"....even if they have to overlook or ignore some of the things Trump does and says.
