Attacker yelled 'Trump!' as he beat Hispanic man and Muslim student

It was just another late Friday night at Wichita State University — so late that it might have been early Saturday. Khondoker Usama, student body vice president, took a break from partying to go to a local Kwik Shop to get a snack and some gas. And it was there that he said he ran into a Donald Trump supporter with a chip on his shoulder.

Usama first noticed the man — white, in his 20s or 30s, motorcycle in tow — because the motorcyclist was berating a black man Usama thought had asked for some gas money.

“The man was yelling at the African American guy, calling him a lazy ass, saying, ‘You guys don’t work,'” Usama told The Washington Post in a telephone interview. “He was using racial slurs.”

Then, the man turned his attention to Usama, a 23-year-old Muslim senior from Bangladesh, and his friend, a Hispanic male. He pulled his bike in front of Usama’s green Acura.

“We both have brown skin color,” Usama said. “… He said, ‘Hey you brown trash, you better go home.'”

Usama’s friend replied: “‘It’s my country. Who they hell are you to tell me go home?'” The man pushed Usama’s friend and said: “‘Say that again.'” Usama’s friend pushed back.

Then, the alleged beating began.

“He seemed to me looking for a fight,” Usama said. “… The man started punching my friend. My friend dodged the first punch. I got in the middle of them – I told my friend to get back in the car. [The man] pushed me and he hit me over.” Then, he turned back to Usama’s friend, “kicking him in the stomach, indiscriminately punching him.” Usama called 911. And, while the student was waiting for police to arrive and the alleged beating continued, the motorcyclist took a moment to weigh in on the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

“He was shouting, ‘Trump!”” Usama said. “‘Trump will take over country from you guys!'”

The man eventually got back on his bike and, before police arrived, circled Usama and his now prostrate friend. (The alleged beating was reported by the Wichita Eagle early Monday morning.)

“He was chanting, ‘Trump! Trump! Trump!'” Usama said. “‘Make America great again! You guys are the losers! You guys, we’ll throw over the wall!'”

As I've said many times before, those guys should've run the car over this disguting piece of trash. Seriously, this is getting too big. And I can't take the fact that Trump would win the elections. Why are people so uncultivated? Why are they allowed to live in the same world as me? Why do I have to share a place that should be peaceful and friendly for everyone with racists, untolerant and old-minded people? I wish we had like two continents, one for good human beings and another one for those loathsome people.

I honestly cannot fathom why people are hateful towards other people. I don't want to generalize, but in all honesty, a lot of Trump's supporters are white [conservative, obviously] males and females. I don't understand their logic at all, as if they rightfully own the United States. *News flash* You stole/pillaged from the Native Americans, it's not like the America was yours to begin with. 

This nation is suppose to embrace all kinds of people, it shouldn't matter what your religion/race is. Why can't we accept people for who they are? It's disgusting.

They can't see it that way. Not just some* Trump supporters, a lot of people. They can't look at another human and just see a human with thoughts, feelings, and rights of their own. They see attributes first. They see skin color, accents, cultural fashion, religious symbols, etc. I'll never understand why those things are reasons to belittle or outright hate someone.

I say some because I know Trump supporters, there are even some on this site, and we know they're not all bigoted...they see something else in him that we don't see 'cause we can't look past the ignorant statements and childish rhetoric that his followers rally behind. Rightfully so, too, I'm just tired of "calling people out" and I'm tired of the misunderstandings and petty arguments.

Before someone thinks this is directed at someone, it's not. Just a general statement about how much I dislike the negativity when it comes to political discussions. Both sides of the argument seem to get their feelings hurt and spit venom at each other which does nothing but hurt your argument and image. Calm down, be rational, and if someone makes childish remarks, leave them to it and don't feed into it.

If it was just these types supporting Trump, he wouldn't be winning the GOP nomination and wouldn't be so far ahead. Unfortunately, many of Trump's supporters are teachers, lawyers, business people, etc. from all walks of life. 

Of course, the radical racists are going to be for Trump. What's putting him way ahead, though, are the average citizens...ones who would never condone behavior like this.

OT: I wonder where the person saying Trump supporters weren't violent is now  This is disgusting. Black, Mexican, Muslim, no matter where you were born/skin color/religion, why does it make some people less important than others? What gives someone the right to beat someone else in the name of a garbage candidate? I'm losing even more faith in the country if they vote for this buffoon.
