I can imagine Misery being a big sleeper hit, it would be a perfect song for the summer, especially with a remix by a big name producer, was NickARTPOP
Quartz 12,531
The thing is, the sound of her lead is quite outdated. It isn't that catchy and tbh, the video is boring albeit it looking like it took a lot of hard work. Also, I think a lot of her success in the past can be attributed to the GP liking her and not because she had hardcore fans. Hardcore fans will support you while the GP forgets. Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Neither of the singles, "Used To Love You," and "Make Me LIke You," have breached the top 50 of the hot 100. Despite the fact they have been praised by fans and critics. She has also done a good amount of promotion, she had the grammy music video, a performance on Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, and The Voice. Is it because of her absence for so long, do people not like what she is making? Why are the general public so unwilling to let the incredible talent that is Gwen Stefani back into their lives? TBH the first two singles were blah. But her third single is really good. Wenli 826
She's 46 years old. Is this really surprising? Everyone can't be Tina Turner or Cher.
Harry 26,836
I honestly think her age has quite a bit to do with it, unfortunately. From both the public and radio. I guess she's not "cool" anymore, probably due in part to her lengthy break. Also, the hype that comes with a "comeback" was kinda ruined by the messy releases of Baby Don't Lie, Spark The Fire etc as well. If she came back with a great single and announced the album right away things might've been different. Instead there was minor excitement about her comeback because of the average song, and here we are. Another point though... Why do I feel like Hollaback Girl and The Sweet Escape were really the only major global hits she had? I know particularly with the whole Sweet Escape album there wasn't that much radio success, so maybe she's always had this problem and just needs that song that connects. imwoahvicky 4,248
She isn't exactly relevant anymore. No one at my school knows her/cares about her, not even older people anymore. She just doesn't exist in the music world ⚜ Roll Deep ⚜

I think we exclude all her hits with No Doubt, she would probably only have a few hits on her own. Though I barely remember any No Doubt song either. I just think her solo singles (particularly from LAMB) were so great that they've lasted, but it seems like she would only really have a handful of solo hits.
