Although, resisting makes everything worse. Why not just turn around and explain everything at the office ( I KNOW it's not easy to get out of or tell about the situation, but it would make problems less than what it is now ). I honestly would not think that this even has to do with race. This is just a case of someone who tries to tell that he was just there dancing. But the security officers didn't want him there, because he seemed "drunk"?

I don't know why the race card is being pulled here. This is just a situation of abusing their powers. It has NOTHING to do with his skin color. It disgusts me everyone is pulling the card, just because the victim was black.

The security officer was black aswell, it didn't even matter when it comes to skin color. It was just a matter of what they thought he was doing there and how his condition was.

What happened before? Did he listen to the first warning for leaving the area? Do we know that? It's all what you guys haven't seen, this is all disregarded from what happened at the hospital, because if I were told that I could not stay there by security officers, I would have left aswell. DANCING OR NOT. I would just dance somewhere else lol.

Why does he have to scream? Why is it needed to be so loud?

I'm taking no sides here.

The police officer was wrong on handling the situation. But so was the person being there.

This is a situation that could have been avoided LONG ago, if you get told to leave, just leave lmao.

It's clear with how they were treating him they thought he was a threat even though he wasn't displaying any threatening behaviour. Why else do you think that is? He was loud because he was upset, but he wasn't being aggressive at all. Only one of the several people attempting to shut him down was black, not that it makes any difference. Internalised racism is possible too.

Bearing in mind that this is America we're talking about. It's not like police brutality towards blacks is unheard of. You and I cannot relate to this experience first hand as we're Europeans, but it's not hard to tell that this happens over there a lot. Even at the start of the video, the man filming makes reference to the fact that he's a Black Panther and the white guard turns around in shock saying: "as a what?". And then at the end they were in a hurry to get him out as well.

The man was charged with trespassing in public. ?!?!? They tasered him and tackled him to the ground even without him displaying any ounce of aggression or violence. But you think what's really disgusting here is that people are speculating it's to do with his race?

Why is it that new age racists always write up 4 page essays in order to justify police brutality and reach out into every cardinal direction to deny that racism is a big part of American police culture. As if a black woman tagging along to take out a dancing teenager changes any of the situation.

Did we even mention that the police was in the right to do this? We are talking about the situation what has happened before and had nothing to do with race. Till it escalated by a wrong officer. Security officers are NOT police officers, they just want to have order in the area and if they just tell you to leave or move to another part, just do it. It would not be a problem at all.

Yes, but how long have they been talking there, why just not call it a day and leave the area. I understand he wants to tell his story, but lord, just leave for the sakes of what it is and send a letter with a complain about what happened. As a black guy, he should know what to expect when a cop arrives. It's corrupted definitely, but he would have known the consequences though as soon as a police officer would arrive.

This police officer was wrong in handling this situation. Abusing his rights of power ( which failed at first try ). He should be fired or put on "offduty?" for a long while.

... I can't. It sounds like you're blaming him, a la "he had it coming"??? He was waiting to catch a bus, why should he have to miss that bus just because of a bunch of racists? Can't see any difference in that logic and telling rape victims they should've dressed more conservatively. Why not level the criticism at the perpetrators instead of the victim? They shouldn't be allowed to get away with it cos "that's just how it is" :rip: It needs to CHANGE and that will never happen if people make excuses for them and accept it.

that security officer is black herself and she was against him. this is not a racist thing.

and you are not allowed to be drunk in public - public intoxication is a misdemeanor in some places, and in most is an offense that you can get held overnight for and pay a fine (idk about new york though actually)

that guy was yelling the whole entire time. a lot of the time someone complains about how they were treated by the police, they were yelling and screaming and fighting in every was possible except with their fists (sometimes police suck and will take advantage of you if you're quiet and complacent, so i understand that)

anyway i feel the black guy could have handled that situation way better. there has to be a reason all those security officers were called. the video starts with him surrounded and screaming. he's pretty hot though and has a great beard.

that final police officer should not have detained him like that though because he was already walking away, but i see his point too. he arrived on the scene and sees a guy rushing away from a group of security guards, what is he supposed to do? he was detaining the guy so he could ask him questions. the black guy pushed back against the police officer and that's why he was tazed. so i see everybody's point.

the black guy probably still was fighting at the end though because at that point he probably would have been arrested and charged with something even if originally he wasn't doing enough to get arrested for. sucks for him. hard to say but i dont feel like this is racism at all.

You are allowed to be drunk in public according to NY state laws.

He was charged for resisting arrest and trespassing (in a public space). If he had done anything aggressive or unruly to cause this commotion then he would've been charged for that too. But shock... There was nothing. Arrested for resisting arrest.

There is absolutely no valid reason for how they treated him and it's shocking to see people try and excuse blatant racism.

Who says I'm blaming him, what do we know what happened before? Yes he was waiting, but he was dancing aswell. So an Officer can't check to see what's going on? Why are there 6 officers? What if just 1 officer told him to stop whatever he was doing or something but refused, a reason that led to more officers? I'm not blaming him, but it's just a situation you don't know for not being there and not knowing what happened. And this all regardless from what happened after that. From this position you would have gotten security cameras in order to confirm this incident.

Most police officers are a c*nt these days now. And definitely to black people, yes.

You're making excuses... And even if they did tell him to stop - why did they tell him to stop? Dancing is offensive? He wasn't harassing anyone or doing anything wrong otherwise he would've been charged for it and they would've mentioned it in the video. They were literally asking him to leave for no reason.

i just dont see this as racism. maybe it is but cops can be asssholes to anyone regardless of race. depending on the cop they will arrest anyone for anything.

Of course they can, but the amount of instances where white cops are "assholes" to black people occur awful frequently, don't they? To the point of murdering them? I just watched a video of a white officer tasering, tackling down and arresting a black man because he was dancing. It's really sad that you can't see that as a race problem because you know damn well they wouldn't have treated a white man the same. If a white guy was dancing on his own with his headphones in whilst waiting for a bus he would've just been "goofing around". Probably would've been filmed and turned into a viral sensation. Yet this guy was a threat to the point that he had to be tasered. Please.

this was so cringeworthy to watch and I'm on the dude's side but
a) he isn't a teen
b) we didn't get to see if he was really just "dancing" he seemed pretty violent to be fair

If he was white or hispanic the situation would have been handled differently. In the US, Blacks are seen as aggressive and Arabs are seen as terrorists. Blacks and arabs are seen as aggressive and the main target when it comes to the racist police.

well of course racism exists but i dont really see it in this video. i just saw a guy screaming and yelling. the security guards might have escalated it to that point, idk. i just dont see it as racism. it's not a hate crime just because the person is black.

Spoiler

here r some videos of cops arresting white ppl:

the above video is SORT of similar to the video with the black guy up until she goes crazy but i feel it is discredited because of her actions after the fact so lets move on

This asian cop was treating this mexican very cruelly. was he being racist to pedro? mexican lives matter too

so those videos in the spoiler i feel like as a response u will insult me and call me names and call me a racist. but i just dont see the video in OP was really racist. cops are really offensive and rude most of the time to everybody. they have been towards me and im white. they have been towards friends of mine, black, white, doesnt matter. i think cops hate everyone equally. im not saying racism doesnt exist in the police i just dont see it necessarily in the OP

also the officer that came at the end detained the black guy because when he arrived, the black guy was hurriedly leaving a group of security guards, what is he supposed to think? the black guy even pushed back physically against the police officer right before he got tazed. idk what the security guards were doing but they had a reason for what they were doing. do u really think they approached him just because he was innocently dancing to himself and not causing any noise? either case might be true, we dont know. he was screaming this whole video. it's not improbable to say that he was doing something extra before the video started. i dont know just like u dont know

i also dont think my point of there being a black security guard is so easy to throw away. was she being racist? she told him that they asked him nicely to leave before and he evidently had refused.

like, the security guards might have been wrong, but all im saying is that it doesnt look like racism was the cause

Trust me darling, hispanics aren't the cutest to them either tho. But, from what some people here don't get what I'm trying to say is that I'm talking about the situation before the cop came in. From what the cop did, that's all wrong. Neither do I accept that. Security Officers =/= Police Officers, that's why I'm wanting to know what happened before. America or not, I don't really see 6 security officers coming out of the blue just to tell the person to go away. It must have happened with just 1 security officer before, something must have escalated after that. The reason why there would be more officers. And now people say that I'm blaming the black guy? I'm not. We don't know what happened before.

It's like seeing an asian being beaten by 6 black dudes, but we don't know what the asian did what led to this.

A blind story from the beginning.

hispanics get police brutality judging by their skin color, usually the afro ones. It's weird how in  Hartford Connecticut, A light skin cuban guy had a shot gun placed on his backpack in the liquor store but when an arab arrives with the same shot gun people suddenly get scared. Overall people take things to the extreme as the camera guy originally said. The guy was drunk and maybe he was rowdy but he even tried to leave the place and they kept hounding on him like a bunch of vultures.

I understand, but he kept shouting, and I think from that point of him leaving the police officer came. And from what I heard in this video, he would be detained not arrested. But hell, I'm not going to defend the police officer. I'm just going from what I heard in this video. People will eat me
