Utada's album was the fifth highest-selling album in Japan in 2018. (Fantome was #3 in 2016)

Namie Amuro's "Finally" was #1 this year  It was released in November 2017 and became the #1 selling album for 2017 as well. Apparently it sold over a million copies its first week alone. Holy crap. And I'm just realizing there's several new songs on it that I still haven't heard cuz it's not on iTunes.

nnnn the wikipedia page for it says every single since Red Carpet in December 2015 was to promote her final album, which seems inaccurate tbh. Like, you can't tell me "Mint" and "Hero" were meant to promote an album that hadn't even been announced yet.

Biggest Surprise: EXO's "Tempo" hands down. When I heard the leak I thought the song was t-r-a-s-h, but after the mv and the official song they shut me up immediately. Best K-Pop song for me this 2018, and EXO's best single imo, beating Overdose.

Biggest Disappointment: BP getting the short end of the stick in YG; Hyoyeon's single (ReEcklEssSss lmao); SM's packed (and rushed) november schedule because of EXO's comeback
