K-Pop was starting to become a thing in Southeast Asia because of the Wonder Girls (Nobody), Super Junior (Sorry, Sorry), and 2NE1 (Fire, I Don't Care). I began stanning shinee for a short time in 2009, then Super Junior until 2012, then EXO until 2013. Then I stopped listening to the whole genre. I realized as they were doing their comebacks, that I really was really only stanning their personalities and their singles, not their body of work. The genre losing its uniqueness then was also a factor. Then came along NCT in the second half of 2018. A whole five years since then. NCT 127 caught my eye because of the Cherry Bomb mini album.
