Well talent always wins ...even over her attitude :). By the way, she used the f words to people who called her names too so...

Or now you're gonna tell me that we can insult anybody without any response just because we are gays? ._.

You shouldn't make assumptions regarding my replies.  Regardless if people have called her names let's not excuse her behaviour which has evidently been disgraceful for a very long time, not verbally but also physically.  I'm just glad that her music isn't making much impact because she doesn't need an even taller pedestal to spew such hatred.

Whether people have called her a b**** or not she is a grown adult and they don't retaliate as if theyre still in high school. Simple really.

In my very first post to you, I told you I didnt want to discuss race with you but you hammered on.

If you really didn't want to talk with me, why would you reply to me when I quoted you?

I was being facetious omg :air:

Y'all taking the phrase "drag that mayo devil!!!" way too seriously. Y'all need fresh air :air:

This is a major problem in the perpetuation of white racism. That it's just a joke, it's all in good fun, nothing to take seriously, it can't hurt anyway. You're justifying racism and all-round nastiness towards others. If I called you the n word and then claimed it was just a fun drag and you're taking it way too seriously, would you stand for that? No, because that word is offensive, nasty and built on generations of prejudice and suffering. But that's just it - why must every insult directed at race have to be steeped in horrible meaning and henious history in order to be offensive, hurtful or even to be taken seriously? It makes no sense and justifies unfounded hatred. By using words like cracker or mayo, you're putting a white person into a stereotype that they may not fit, you are accusing them of being racist (ironically with a racist term) because they are white, you are perpetuating the stereotype that whites are racist, stuck-up, uneducated about the wider world outside their narrow parameters. Above all, it generalises us and it's BS. Stop fighting racism with racism. It's illogical and only leads to more resentment on both sides. Insulting the opposition is never the best way to get them to convert.

Because your making an exaggerated proclamation of my character based on one thought...oh wait the same thing y'all do to Azealia :awkney:

Oh, trust me, I've based my opinion of her on a whole lot of her disgusting thoughts. From her homophobia to her racism to her physical assaults to her support of a racist presidential candidate, this is one horrible woman. I don't know how blacks can support her after she said she only dated white men because black men don't know how to treat women and racially insulted a black woman for her natural black look online and is now supporting Trump. Are you lot just blind to her ways because you're so deep into being a fan of her?

You guys are proving Azealia right. White gays are way too sensitive sometimes. I'll never understand the amount of people who like Iggy on gagadaily and try to defend her. I mean, yes Azealia has said problematic things etc. But the music quality has always been there, for me at least. Iggy's accent on the other hand was always borderline grating to me. Just my opinion.

Not all her detractors are white or gay. She's insulted basically every race, ethnicity and sexual orientation there is. No wonder she has barely any fans left. There is no over sensitivity here, just people having enough of her hatred for their communities. I like Iggy, she may not be the best rapper out there, but her music is decent and she's a lovely person if anyone would give her the chance (everyone who meets her says how nice she is for a reason) and she's always been super classy regarding the whole Azealia feud. As for her accent, as I've repeated many times, white rappers, particularly ones that aren't from the US or East London, are under pressure to change their accents to sound good (rapping in any native accent that isn't either of these 2 homes of rap usually sounds silly). Guaranteed she'd be taken even less seriously if she rapped with her Australian accent. Azealia, on the other hand, has been horrible and that's enough to turn me off a person completely, regardless of how good their music is (though I think her music is pretty mediocre, truth be told). If any artist started being as horrible as Azealia, I wouldn't want to support them. Nasty people don't deserve success.

I usually agree with the majority of your opinions, but I can't get behind the idea of white racism. So many rappers choose to rap in their native tongue, it can sound normal to hear Brits of Aussies rap depending on how good they are. Shystie is one example. She happened to do two songs with Azealia and although I'm not the biggest fan, her raps are way better than anything Iggy's team of ghostwriters have come up with. After listening to Iggy's music before she became a rapper, it's clear that she was going in more of a pop direction, but when that didn't work out she switched it out to co-opt an accent, and ride the coattails of Nicki Minaj, while benefitting from the fact that she appealed to white audiences. Whether we want to admit it or not, we tend to relate most to people who look most like us. We all try to deny it, but it's a proven principle. I bring up white gays because I think that there defense of Iggy comes from a place of being able to see themselves in her, and subconsciously they want to paint Azealia out as the big bad black woman while treating Iggy like a saint. The whole reason Azealia started dissing Iggy again is because Iggy decided to shade her in a 2016 interview. Earlier this year, Azealia seemed over the whole feud and even protested Macklemore's song which shaded Iggy, so I don't see how Iggy is the one taking the high road when she decided to stir up the whole mess again. I just think people need to really listen to Azealia's music, and ask themselves if they want to compare it to Iggy's. Most people would prefer Banks if they'd give ha a chance.

Lyrically she is superior however people have given Azealia a chance,  time after time.  There's a reason people dislike her, a reason why Gaga and Rih cut her from the album.  Appreciate her music as much as you want but you can't applaud her behaviour or even justify it. She's been physically and verbally abusive. As for 'white gays' seeing a reflection of themselves in Iggy well that's just you targeting a specific race and sexuality to further boost your defense which in reality only causes a further divide between races.  You can't generalise people and fight fire with fire.  It's counterproductive.

I feel like I'm the only person that finds her Twitter rants hilarious. Like, this is an oddly specific death threat hahaha She's just so crazy. I don't really agree with a lot of her views, but her insanity is hilarious.

yup, Azealia always says **** like this joking... people need to calm down about everything she says.

And the physical assault against a security guard ...yes that was awful but let's not act like she do this all the time. She's a human, she can make mistakes.

Iggy in the other hand is an untalented hypocrite, she pretends to be nice but anyone who knows about her since she was "underground" (lol) can tell that she isn't as sweet as she pretends now.
Azealia Banks still the queen with  no crown, I like that she's been honest and don't pretend to be pure love and kindness like other artists.

I've heard and seen white racism. And it's disgusting. Some middle easterns saying all white women are whores (the culture clash is a big reason why there are attacks on white women by men from these stricter backgrounds), whites being chased out their hometowns because of immigrants moving in and making restricted areas just for them where whites are expressly told not to go near (got a cousin who lives in an area surrounded by this type of thing), in some parts of Africa, whites are being attacked by blacks for no other reason than being white and I heard about an awful case where a black man raped a white woman while he called her racist names and the (white) police didn't label it a hate crime. Wake up - racism is racism and everyone can endure it. And it's dangerous to say otherwise. If we turn a blind eye to it, it'll get worse.

Shystie is British, from London, so she is in the select group I'm talking about who don't need to change their accents because American and certain British ones sound badass. Very few others do. Plus, she's black, so she has a black accent on top of that, so she doesn't need to change a thing. I'm Scottish - rapping in my natural tongue sounds monotone and ridiculous. Put an accent on it and I actually sound halfway credible. I don't get why more people don't realise this. Face it - we don't want to hear a rapper who doesn't have an American or English accent. That's why rappers outside these regions have to change: for acceptance. We don't know the full background story of Iggy's - it's highly likely her label tried to make her do pop to see if that would sell (when you're a white rapper, it's good to have a backup plan and as a white girl, she'll be socialised into pop). Sorry, no, you won't work the "we're attracted to people that look similar to us" argument. Almost all my favourite rap albums are from blacks. Until Iggy came along, the only white rappers I listened to were Eminem and Plan B, who are critically acclaimed. When it comes to music, I don't care what anyone looks like or what their background is because as a music reviewer, I just listen to what's put in front of me, whether I want to or not. If I like something, it's because I genuinely like it. I never thought I'd like Iggy, i didn't have high hopes for her. But she genuinely surprised me, especially with tracks like Fancy, Black Widow, Goddess, We In This Bitch and Heavy Crown. Trust me, any shade Iggy has made towards Azealia has been classy shade. She's been holding out the olive branch from the beginning. There may be the stereotype of the "bad black woman" but there's also the stereotype of the "ignorant, racist white bitch." It works both ways. Azealia only brought down Macklemore because she hates white rappers. I don't care for the song either and I agree with her point about how he didn't have the guts to mention Eminem, but we know why she's really doing this - just looking for an excuse to hate on whites. Again.

Azealia's music is ok to me at best. Her Fantasea mixtape was her best and even then, it was only slightly better than average. Then she turned bad and put me right off her. Her album...I can't even understand what she's saying most of the time and it's just back-to-back random stuff. 212 is one of her few songs that I can actually understand. I need music to have lyrics that are clear cut and with clear diction. A lot of rap can rely on lots of those random lyrics seemingly plucked out of nowhere but I can rarely handle it. I don't get why people call her music so danceable either. Her music is so alternative, of course it won't sell. It's not because people are racist. And of course, her attitude turns everyone off.

So, because a few people think it's funny, that makes it funny and acceptable? Nice. Let's see how you react if the same thing is ever done to you and if you'd believe this theory then.
