While manufacturing has struggled for the last 15 years and resource development dominated, enough manufacturing still exists to take advantage of a lower currency and cheaper energy costs While energy exports see small growth, manufactured goods and in particular the auto industry is seeing robust growth and investment While most Oil giants are making budget cuts, Canada is taking advantage of its low debt to increase spending in infrastructure and other investments to speed up economic growth and the transition.
