You're missing what I'm saying. :smh:

He doesn't do it for every song, just for a select few. Like Ciara's "Dance Like We're Making Love" was an old song but was released on her next album and became a single. And just like how Nicki released the music they did together and barely even gave it any promo.

Look, a record label invests millions of dollars into these big name artists. For an artist like Katy, singles performance on radio is everything! A major label is not going to promise any producer that only their sings will be released as singles, of that their songs will be released first... especially with a big name artist like Katy. Money is FIRST. The label wants to make money. They are going to pick the songs that have the best chance at doing the best on radio.

Producers get paid, labels shell out the cash and take the risks. They have the choice and the say in releasing singles.

Yes Dr. Luke obviously has an agreement with the label....

He probably consults with the label regarding that if they want him involved in the process, select songs have to be released as singles at some point. I've already given you several examples. With Britney's Radar being the most blatant example.  And of course they're not going to say no to Dr. Luke. That's what I'm saying.

For all we know Katy has suffered under Luke too. I say false. What if she can't speak up publicly because the hold he has over her. Stop being jealous of her success and be decent human beings.

With Dr Luke, if he produces it, it MUST be a single. Even Marina confirmed it.

I like how when a user posts about a supposed Gaga "insider" they get dragged to the pits of hell because they're not considered a credible source, but when someone posts some bizzare, possible damaging and wildly unsubstantiated rumor about Katy, some will instantly believe it as proven fact just because it paints her in a negative light and opens the floor for 48 pages of dragging.

There are plenty of examples of Dr, Luke songs that weren't released as singles, when others by other producers were. A major label with an investment as big as Katy's is not going to promise a producer to release his songs first. They would say no to Dr. Luke in a heartbeat, if other songs were better choices. You seem to think that a producer holds all the cards and that simply isn't the case. The label holds all the cards, they invest millions...they are the ones saying yes and no.

Dr. Luke does not have a hold over Katy. The record label holds all the cards. That's why Kesha is stuck and Katy's not!

Is it true that Miley is refusing to work with him again? (Thought you might know :) )

I also find it interesting that Taylor worked with Max, but never with Dr. Luke. It wouldn't surprise me if there are all sorts of stories that get passed around behind closed doors and that some managers or artists warned others.

The producer doesn't have all the cards lol. But if Dr. Luke came into Capitol Records and said,  "I've come up with several songs for Katy that are destined to be hits, if you want this to be on the record, I want these specific songs to be released eventually." The label hears the material, and is blown away.

Why would they turn down a hit? Of course not every single song, as I keep saying. But idk we're just going to have to agree to disagree, I guess. I just know that deep in my heart, Dr. Luke obligates these artists to release some of his music as singles if they want to work with him. Maybe not with Katy since they have an understanding idk. I just have heard of producers doing that, and I'm sure Luke is one of them.
