A unique idea for the tour

I think all the time about being a collaborator on Gaga's 2016 tour UK leg. Reason being that she's missing most of the UK and making the mistake of only visiting big cities which are too expensive for most to travel. I spent around £800 going to artrave when you factor in fuel, travel time, days off work, accommodation, food, parking etc it was ridiculous.

The amount of fans that simply cannot spend that much must be astronomical. If they could get there easier they would likely go twice!

But even in big cities the number of locals that attend is quite minimal. Which just begs the question: what's the point?

Which brings me to my point: A gaga tour that visits BETWEEN the cities is much more accessible for all. City workers can AFFORD the expenses.

Venue. That's an issue easily rectified. The UK is FULL of wide open space and farmers fields. I'm more than certain that they would hire out a field for a few nights for what is essentially "gaga fest".

Venues available to hire with high capacity include:

Dalemain house, Cumbria - hosts many large events in its grounds.

Market rasen racecourse (hosted Tom Jones in 2015, hosts Jess Glynne in 2016)

Kings Norton golf club estate, south Birmingham.

Etc. You get the point.

It's a really good idea to be honest but artists play in these bigger cities because they'll get more money.  Wouldn't Live Nation have a contract with O2 as well in the UK I imagine?

More importantly you spent £800 on the artRAVE? Did you get a train from Scotland to London or something? :omg:

Stars go to massive cities because the population density + convenience of a centrally located arena means lots of easy ticket sales.

This is a good point I had to travel for 2 hours to get to artrave in Birmingham and it took 2 and a half hours to get back home afterwards I dont live too far from Birmingham either but its such a pain getting into the city centre and the UK does have tons of open space she could have done a gaga festival artrave in Staffordshire in weston park for example because its almost halfway between birmingham and manchester and loads of people in rural areas in staffordshire dont bother going to these big venues because they are annoying to access

It'd be great. But trust me, it's a whole lot harder for us - the Eastern European fans. For the artRAVE, the closest location for me was Stockholm, which is hella expensive. So we spent hundreds of Euros just to get there and another one for the ticket. (it was totally worth it, though)

Basically, I think that artists who do a European tour, should actually do a EUROPEAN tour not just a West-European tour.

I think she covered a lot of ground last time. She went to sheffield which I didn't think would happen, glad it did because that's where I saw her.

yes I guess I had no reason to moan about just a couple of hours there and back even if it was much further I would still have gone

I live in Coventry just 20 min train away (that runs every 5 mins!) from Birmingham I hope she comes here next year :)

You can't just go and hold a concert in a field, you need to pay for security, electricity, planning permission to build your stage, all that stuff, its way too expensive for Live Nation to care.. I take it stuff people host in those venues are one-off things? They'll also usually only pick venues run by AEG/Live Nation

Same I live near Lichfield so Birmingham is always where I go to for concerts I find the NEC easier to get to then the NIA though because there is so much traffic in the city centre I guess it would be worse in London tho

I have no idea,  it was an example of how you could spend a fortune on transport.

Oh true.. trains to London are expensive :air: I hope LiveNation one day don't fluke the UK like they usally do... they only bring singers to the UK for like 5 dates at the most in 2 or 3 venues

I have an idea. What if they gave us weaves then in the middle of the concert, we snatch each other's weaves. That would be great.

Kbye.
