Some interesting videos about Bowie

I don't know which tag to use, maybe throwback is ok. I was never a Bowie fan. Like many others I decided to check out some videos after Gaga's tribute.

I want to share them here, it's pretty obvious how he influenced Gaga, she's even mentioned in this documentary about him

look at the thumbnail of this video :green:

some interesting, funny and adorable family interviews

(this host is such a dickhead btw)

I feel so sad for Iman. What a love story.

Anyway, even if you don't like his music, I'd recommend these videos to at least learn about his life and career. He was one of a kind.

these interviews are GOLD. I've watched most of them before.

Biographies about Bowie mention Gaga too. Out of the five I've read so far, I remember two of them mentioning Gaga as an example of his long term impact.

Well, he is Gaga's BIGGEST/MAIN inspiration so I'm not surprised that she basically dedicated her whole career to him. It's like me dressing with Pokémon inspired outfits or singing Dragon Ball tunes as I wear a Lady Gaga bowtie in my hair.

This man was such a genius that wasn't as much appreciated as other acts, because he was the male Gaga in that time.

Fun fact: He only won 2 Grammys. But his talent will remain flawless forever in the oddity of space and time.

Yes, he was so great...I really love how these 60's, 70's and 80's artists had such big personalities and charisma...you watch these interviews and it's like you know the person Bowie was, what he was about, how he thought...and the same goes for Michael, Madonna, Elton, Whitney, they were all unapologetically themselves, wether you liked it or not...

Nowadays I feel the push is for ppl to be as relatable as possible, in the easiest, cheesiest way...and having an opinion, a real opinion about something that matters, is almost a crime...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing. I think that he was very special, he had not the same thoughts as the others, but in the same time he was so authentic, because this thoughts were real and he had his own worldview. He never ran after the others. But he transported everything he absorbed through his music and visuals.

A true one of a kind.  And since he changed albums and music direction right and left from album to album often at warp speed, even for a non-fan, they would be hardpressed not to find one album they love.

A favorite lately of mind, Diamond Dogs. I can't believe at one point I didn't like it.  Very dramatic.

David Bowie was an extremely talented artist.  Whether people like to admit it or not, David helped to shape the music industry as we now know it.  It's a shame we lost a great one like him too soon.  May he rest in peace.   :rip:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

This isn't a video of David Bowie, but about one of his songs.

But Shooter Jennings and Marilyn Manson were both massive Bowie fans and influenced musically by him.  This song, Cat People, a Bowie song, was recorded before he passed away as a cover by Shooter and Marilyn for Shooter Jennings' album.  Marilyn did the vocal in one take in his home.  It's stunningly brilliant by Marilyn Manson and  musically glorious by Shooter.  I can't get enough of it.  Laid down that amazing vocal in one take.  Wow.  The brilliance of Marilyn Manson.

Here's the article and the song link in the article.

I went to the international David Bowie exhibition in the Netherlands today. It was beautiful. I really did get a Gaga fibe from all the things I've seen. Really mind-blowing how creative he was and they even mentioned Gaga as one of the people on which he had such a big impact. I truly got in to his music and he is in my opinion a so much more interesting person than almost all of his contemporaries. I respect Bowie but I couldn't help myself but picturing me in about 30 years stolling along the meat dress, the Grammy Vessel and all her other outfits and stuff at a Gaga exhibition. :nick:
