So Katy is allowed to bash a younger artist but fellow humans can't bash Katy? Your hypocrisy is disgusting.

Did she "bash" her or just ignore her? Pretty sure what's happening on this site isn't even in the same vein as what Katy did, and even so, oh well.

Yes, my hypocrisy is disgusting. I'm OK with it.

This is no big deal :sara:

You're right. Getting bashed face to face (with someone you used to look up to) is far worse than getting bashed anonymously online.

Who cares? This generation needs to grow a back bone.

Oh ok but again, did she "bash" her?? No?? Then what's the foundation of your argument?

SISTERV

Honestly there have been reports of Katy sabotaging Kesha, Gaga, and Taylor and now Ryn. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Katy seems really fake to me and just seems like that girl.

Sure. It's our fault that there are bullies who want to bash us. It's we who need to change, not the bullies.

Why are you asking me all these questions when you keep answering them? It's all on Twitter so don't ask me read it for yourself.

Katy's career is practically a joke now anyway. Roar did well, Unconditionally flopped, Dark Horse did okay, Birthday FLOP, This Is How We Do, FLOP. and her backup dancer got more attention than she did for her very artificial and prop heavy Super Bowl performance.

I just think people are over her and the industry is moving towards a trend of artists actually have to be talented to be successful. I think the war with Taylor did her in honestly... I mean, let's be real here Meghan Trainor won a Grammy before Katy did and Taylor has 10 including two AOTY awards.

I believe Ryn because Katy is not a musician, she's a mean spirited poser who is in it for the success and money and not the craft- I think the Grammy board sees that too which is why she hasn't won music's most prestigious award even though she can sell a **** ton of singles.

I have no idea what you are even talking about and why you are bringing up examples from years ago. We are discussing the current radio climate. Try to stay in this decade.

Crossover appeal? What are you talking about with that? Whitney and Mariah had crossover appeal from R&B/Urban formats to HAC/CHR formats. I guess Celine had crossover to AC...but that is such a small, rather insignificant format. Katy doesn't really have crossover appeal. She is a pop artist, whose songs do best on pop formats, in general.

The question isn't radio support. The question is when radio supports all your songs like they are at the top of the iTunes Charts for months. (and there is nothing else to back it up, like having an album sitting in the top 3 for months) Radio responds to demand...OR legal payola...and that payola is what was driving three of the five releases.

pretty sure she holds the record for most #1s on Adult Pop Songs

also, pretty sure ET topped Urban Radio and DH and LFN charted high too

didn't Firework and Roar top AC songs?

so I don't get why you think she doesn't have crossover appeal?

Pop formats include CHR and HAC. Like I stated, AC doesn't have enough AI to make much difference on the charts or on iTunes.

Her songs start out on Pop formats (CHR and HAC) and do the best on those formats the majority of the time. That's not a crossover artist. It's a pop artist who relies on pop formats for radio play, and who sometimes gets some Rhythmic play if she throws a rapper on her song.

I hit submit and it won't let me edit.

The position and duration did not match up with the pop formats. Katy is a pop artist with the predominately mass appeal on pop formats.
