JackTheTripper 866
Rebel rebel The fist minute is completly visually beautifull. subtle surreal art in picture right there, cinematography visuals lightning= all done beutiful. I would also like to point the finale of the performance the dramatic vocals and galaxy lightning moving and projecting, it was aalmost like 4d. I know many people said that that camera maybe didnt pick full effect from that angle, beacuse we saw that on rehhershal it was filmed side ways and was more obvious to notice, even tho it was visual impresive the euforic ending. I remeber how she said how Bob Wilson told her to start strong, and end big when performing (usually in theatre). And that was applyed to perfection here. The main part- i found on some point it was a lot happening , a bit to mach to take all inn. The projections behing during Ziggy stardust by Ruth Hogben , her glam rock pose-cape reveal looked cool, during Rebel Rebel we saw behind her theis Intel technology , added effect of her prfoming behind, that look coll and amazing for a brief seconds 2:25, 22:50- NOW if we had that effect during all t performance and if the the reflektors where more dimmed, more atmosferic, main(standard light) thos efect would look better, and the band was amazing during Rebel Rebel including bacing vocalsand experimental interluded .the piano for me was unnecessary and like i sad the bright lights and everything we coundt apprecaate how amazing the choregrpahy was during Fame and Fashion. All in all if maybe during central part of the performance the song shift wasntt so often and sudden, and if it was musically arranged more fluidly it woud be bettre. and also the camera work, lightning,i believe the eproblem maybe that this thenology maybe isnt best match with the standard HARSH LIGHTNING and didnt pick up in full effet for the camera. I wnated to point out mostly best parts (didnt like white costume) bue there were so many good arts that it doesnt matter, it was a whole lot of everything- in short time. So all gaga needs is abit more constraiint and editing- which i guess was the time manegment here. But again for me- FIRST MINUTE- it was ingenious
SamJ 8,008
I thought the performance was really good some of my friends were bowie fans and all of them loved Gaga's tribute I weren't so keen on the moving piano but the rest of the technology seemed good and she showed everyone yet again what a great performer she is
HEARTHUNTER 7,611
Your point of view seems interesting! I loved the tribute personally, everything made much sense and Gaga was vocally flawless! Also, I knew that something bothered me in her fashion choice (white color of the costume), I think a pastel teal one would fit so much more but the whole show was incredible, I want MORE and by more I mean that I want to see the part of the Gaga/Intel collaboration that wasn't shown because I think the original performance was more technology infused and some things were not shown, but I believe she will not completely waste it! Bio 23,538
She should have focused only on one or two songs and really nailed those. Maybe just Space Oddity with the projections. What happened in the end is she got lost in the middle of so much and the focus turned from Bowie to Gaga. One of the best examples of a great tribute performance is Jennifer Hudson for Whitney Houston at the Grammy Awards. It was raw, emotional and she didn't even sing the high part because she didn't have to make it all about her and her vocal range. I'm not disappointed at Gaga or anything, i just think she missed the mark.
