Working on percentages alone, it's still a gun crazed loonatics playground.

If you don't every American's right to own guns then you're free to move to a country that opposes America's political leanings. Last I checked though America is the biggest economy, the center of human culture, and the blueprint for a successful, happy nation in the modern world and the countries that deviate from America's blueprint aint doing too hot. North Korea is starving to death and Russia has tumbled from superpower to punchline.

The delusion.

Look I can't help it that America won the last global war or that every other country has spent the past 100 years trying to copy America's culture and political structure or that all of the greatest minds and most successful businesses of human history come from America. That's just the way things are.

Maybe if your country tries really hard you can be half as marvelous as the US one day :)

Just stop.

The reason US stories get more coverage than most countries WW is because American culture, foreign policy, and the economy greatly impact the rest of the world.

But why? Well, anyone who's taken a basic American history class knows all the wars we've been involved with. A lot of 'modern' culture such as films and music from the US took the world by storm.

It's not because they're 'jealous.' It's simply because America is a superpower known around the world that has a lot of impact (negative a lot of the time I should add).

Now, there are America haters that want to make it look worse than it is, but I'm pretty sure that's a minority, and if not they've been mislead by the media, as most people are.

Oh, and I saw that edit. Cut the "freedom" bullshit. Many countries around the world are 'free'.

Oh, and I'm American, I think that's an important detail.

The facts are facts. If America wasn't the greatest than countries wouldn't trip over themselves running to copy or outright assimilate into our culture or copy our political ideals. Now why would 1/2 the world's countires be so desperate to become us if they weren't jealous? We are the envy of the world. It's just that simple.

All y'all little anti-americaners need to realize that you hear so much about American crime so much because America takes up a massive portion of a continent and almost all of it is inhabited :emma: We aren't lawless monsters, there's just more people and more people ALWAYS means more crime. Stories about anything in America also sell really well in the media because everyone else on earth is so jealous of our supremacy as a country that they're desperate to feel like that America is a worst place than it is. :rip: There's a reason we're the center of world culture and I'll give you a hint, it's not because we're a terrible, poor, unproductive country.

THE REACH....:applause:

also, America is a continent. you´re allowed to say your american, but not refer to the USA as America (yes it is offensive outside the USA, come at me i know..)

I don't know if you're being sarcastic but Russia and North Korea aren't the only alternatives to the US :emma: As far as I'm aware it was Denmark that was statistically the "happiest nation" and the Nordic nations in general (or the Benelux region) should all be looked up to

EDIT: According to the UN happiness report, Denmark is the third happiest country in 2015, with Switzerland at first and the USA at 17th.

Sis I don't know who told you that it's offensive but that's literally our name, America. :air: Take it up with the founding fathers

They're the extreme examples of complete opposite ideas of America though

"American" is the only term that can be used. The USA isn't the only "United States" in the world.

The proper name for Mexico is "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" In Spanish, they call Americans "Esatdunidenses"

In English there is no other term. Hi, I am a Unitedstatian.... no.

It's not offensive.

Plus, "American" sounds like an Euro-centric term.

You do realize that America was named by a white guy in the first place right? It's not that we're stripping them of their identity and stealing their name. We're using the name we came up with for ourselves. Stay pressed.

I agree, and said that exact thing. Referring to the citizens as "Americans" is alright and the only correct way. Referring to the country as "America" is what people find offensive (its the "you´re excluding the other countries + Americans live in their own bubble stereotype thats around down here). im not trying to start a fight i just point it out ocationally. it doesnt bother me at all haha :). but i feel this is going to blow up and deviate from the topicso lets leave it there.

this tragic accident....i always hear about these shooting every other then...i seriously dont understand why people act the way they do, specially against children.

I don't live in America. Last time I checked, I never genitally mutilated a baby boy, dedicated my soul to the baby Jesus, got obese or suffered from "dia beetus". So yeah. Not American.

America is the world's toilet.

That makes most countries the pipes our old **** goes through then. :air: That also means that our enemies are just homeless people with no plumbing :emma: I like this analogy kind of :emma:

The fact that you're on a forum dedicated to a proud American artist following in a long tradition of America giving birth to the greatest artists ever says a lot

Not really. I mean the countries name is the US of America. Most countries shorten their name. Mexico again, is called the US of Mexico, but they just use "Mexico"

Following the same rule, USA just calls themselves "America"

It doesn't conflict with any other country in both North and South America for US citizens to call it America. It's a non-issue.
