StrawberryBlond 14,881
The first time I ever heard about these dolls, it was a reference to how thin they were. It was a mother who said: "My seven year old said Barbie is fat after showing me her Monster High doll." I saw them the next day and I see entirely what she meant. Next to them, any other doll looks fat. I'm usually the first to say that it's ridiculous that Barbie can actually cause eating disorders, but after seeing how stick thin these dolls are, there's massive concern. My only fear is that Gaga could be accused of promoting unrealistic, dangerous body images to young people by having this doll made of her. Not saying it's justified, but it could happen. I don't think they'll cause eating disorders, these dolls are mostly based in fantasy. One of the dolls is based on Frankenstein even.

There are teenagers and grown women who describe Barbie's body as perfect and strive to get surgery to look like her. People with high self esteem think this is ridiculous but it's not as rare as one would think. When you're a girl growing up surrounded by this wallpaper, you have to admit, you start thinking thin is the only way to go. And if some women in the media presented to you as attractive are not just thin but anorexic thin...
