Idk if its a certain new vocal technique but the way she sings on Dope and the rest of ARTPOP is not the same. She used to do a bit and then just wing it and interact with fans or Mic stands or whatever. When BTW came along she had turned into madonna/Britney. It was sometimes hard to watch her fumble through dance routines whilst trying to sound good. So the heavy backing track came in and in all, the quality of her performance was low due to these factors. C2C helped a lot in that she wasn't a robot or an impersonator. She was free to perform naturally. Unfortunately, twinks and children hate that and would rather have a low quality performance that looks pretty.
