I was actually wondering a few hours ago when Beyoncé might release new material. I guess I got my answer :laughga:

Did you guys ever stop and think that maybe Beyonce's intention with this track wasn't to appeal to the masses with a traditional pop song, but to use her power as an icon for black lives to her advantage, and make an empowering statement for her community?

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

Not when anti just happened.

Good point. They should collaborate on an album to consolidate the level of crap they're putting out.

Song ONLY for the US! Outside Us no one is listening to this kind of music, same with Rihanna's Anti. However I appreciate it artistically it's not trash but neither a masterpiece!

Love the song, the video and it's message :applause:

For those crying because it doesn't have a "Chorus"

it's an Urban song :neyde:

a lot of the times urban songs don't need choruses...

and of course gagadaily would call this and ANTI trash, go listen to taylor swift or katy perry, you'll get your pop bops..

and I love how she's embracing her culture and her blackness "I like my baby hair, with baby hair and afros, I like my negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils"

Drunk in Love was big

No I dont think so! It was big ONLY in the US. It peaked #2 due to the Grammy performance. Outside US...barely reached the top 10 in the UK....f.e.

It was big in Europe too

here in France it's still played at the clubs, and everyone knows the song..

One thing is to try not to appeal to the masses, then there is this... It is meant to be controversial, it is part of a marketing scheme. And I appreciate it, but, I wonder why do we say this wasn't meant to aim high...I mean..whatt??? Its a day before the SB where she is performing, obvious strategy. And yeah, the song is really good, but it is not "raw". Go listen to Jimi Hendrix, Jean Paul Jones, Diamanda Galas, Rolling Stones or early Fleetwood Mac (Mr Wonderful Album) and understand what is raw.

It is for US artists, cause most of the top charters are french.
