Planned Parenthood WINS lawsuit

A grand jury in Texas on Monday brought criminal charges against two undercover videographers who shot tapes purporting to show illegal sales of fetal tissues by Planned Parenthood.

The grand jury, based in Houston, originally convened to investigate allegations of wrongdoing against the reproductive health clinic — but found no evidence that Planned Parenthood or its staff members had broken the law.

Instead, the jury decided to charge David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt — both affiliated with the anti-abortion Center for Medical Progress — with tampering with a government record. Daleiden has also been charged with purchase and sale of human organs.

..

“These anti-abortion extremists spent three years creating a fake company, creating fake identities, lying, and breaking the law,” Eric Ferrero, Planned Parenthood’s vice president of communications, said in a statement.” When they couldn’t find any improper or illegal activity, they made it up.

“These people broke the law to spread malicious lies about Planned Parenthood in order to advance their extreme anti-abortion political agenda. As the dust settles and the truth comes out, it’s become totally clear that the only people who engaged in wrongdoing are the criminals behind this fraud, and we’re glad they’re being held accountable.”

..

If convicted of the top charge, Daleiden and Merritt could face up to 20 years behind bars. It was not immediately clear if either of them had retained an attorney.

Side note: if people really are "pro-life" they'd support PP. Ever since they've been around, the rate of abortions has fallen thanks to the availability of education and contraception. I'm happy for their victory and I hope all this nonsense can settle down now.

Well it could be that since the government funds planned parenthood they wouldn't want to tarnish its image. #Conspiracies!

The thing that annoys me is that a lot of pro lifers are against contraceptives and just think everyone should be abstinent. If you're pro life, that's cool IMO. I don't even mind them peacefully protesting and stuff. I have no opinion on abortion. But if you're gonna also go after contraceptives, then you're just being a prude.

Considering a lot of the congress people wanna defund PP and they voted to do so, I don't think that's the case.

The videos seem like they do sell aborted tissue though. Anyway abortion is best avoided and PP are not ones to encourage avoidance of abortion or for that matter having children and they don't offer any support to anyone who actually wants to keep a baby. They also target black people disproportionatly and sanger the founder of PP wrote in the baby code Article 4. "No woman shall have the legal right to bear a child, and no man shall have the right to become a father, without a permit for parenthood."

PP do not mention natural family planning as an option.

"The results presented from the three surveys analyzed revealed that compared to other women in general and to Catholic women of similar age, NFP users:

have a dramatically low (0.2%) divorce rate;
experience happier marriages;
are happier and more satisfied in their everyday lives;"

"Postponing Pregnancy study Guatemala 2007 – 2010 Presented at International Institute of Restorative Reproductive Medicine in July 2010 99.3% effectiveness. 506 Couples, 3341 cycles. "

Those people crack me up. If you think we can live in a world where people abstain from sex then you are living in a fantasy, my friend.

Also, I'm not sure about the protesting. When my cousin had her abortion a few years ago she went to a PP clinic in Orlando (I believe). Her, now ex-husband raped her and she ended up pregnant. Almost everyone in my family, being the "good Christians" they are, were telling her to not become an accessory to murder. My grandma, myself, and her brothers were the only ones who could see how tough it was to make that call. My grandma and I went with her to the actual appointment. More Christian hospitality awaited her at the doors. Douches handing out pamphlets about babies with pictures of aborted fetuses inside and scriptures scrawled around them. She went in the back crying and came out with a nurse holding her hand, her face pale and lifeless, and she felt horrible. She was depressed for a good year, almost dying twice from neglecting her own health.

Idk, long story short, that choice is hard enough to make without some twat with a poorly made picket sign or graphic pamphlets guilting women over the decision.

As a person who's protested for causes in the past (animals rights) and has had some people feel my presence was inappropriate. Kids have cried outside of circuses and parents have cursed us out (You're probably thinking I'm a jerk rn). As a person with that experience, I have a very hard time condemning any protester who conducts themselves peacefully and respectfully. Protesters goals are to stop something from happening, these people feel abortion is murder. If they do what they do peacefully and respectfully, then I don't see the issue. No establishment is above a protest from people with a different perspective in my view.

People attending a circus are going for a fun experience. Women going into an abortion clinic are an entirely different situation. They aren't going in to watch a fun show and eat some cotton candy. They are scared, upset, worried, nervous and emotional.

Recite their chants on the toilet cause most of the time they're chatting out their ass.

Well, it's definitely not by handing these women pamphlets as they go into a clinic.

How about through rational discussion by getting their opinion and information they feel is worth considering out in the public via the multiple information resources we have in this country?
