Because of reasons, right ?

I hope that the day I tolerate substantiated negative discrimination never comes.

If it isn't clear to you now, it will be clear to you one day, that the way you communicate sabotages your higher ideals.

I believe that freedom of speech is an important component in the media. I could care less if this paper uses religious figures in their cartoons, as they have every right to do so in a free society...but this particular cover is extremely distasteful and offensive.

I agree with you, I think Charlie is not what it used to be and that even before the attack, I don't care much about this journal but at the same time that's a small price to pay for freedom of speech. I know some see it as borderline racism and maybe it is, but I guess the Frenchness in me can still see the lame dark sense of humour, yes that one I would abstain to do because I don't want to sound racist while denouncing racism... but Charlie does not care about that... it's sad cause sometimes they raise great point and I liked the creator of Charlie (he died before the attacks) I wonder what he would think nowadays...

No, it does not. Let me clarify: People will be discriminated always. People are not all equal.
But the important point is to judge an individual based on that individual rather judging an individual based on data found in samples of a group that individual belongs to.

I judged that person based on his words, this does not sabotage or oppose to any of my ideals or beliefs. But the way I communicate is pragmatic not idealistic. I try to convey my message directly and indirectly so the way I communicate can even oppose to my beliefs. Indirect ways can include forcing someone to empathize and think.

You misunderstood the intention of my post. I didn't say the way you communicate is hypocritical to your higher ideals, I said it betrays them.

As I said, you'll see it one day, today just isn't that day. No rush Alpha.

My entry explains how and why the way I communicate is not hypocritical but it can betray "them" for pragmatic reasons if you know what pragmatic means.

I understand the whole political cartoon reactions, they make comics describing a situation in a humor way. But, the dead child is just...idk, i have mix feelings. But that child on the beach still breaks my heart :(. I guess this is the reaction that they wanted? :duck:

Congrats. You are officially the most shallow person I've ever spoken to.

Humans are not uniform. Humans are not goods produced by companies with certain standards. Do you think that a culture is uniformly widespread everywhere in a geography even if it is the most mainstream one ? Even if it was so, do you think that it would have the same exact effect on everyone ? Even if it had the same effect, do you think that everybody would express it in the same way ?

I could say "ohhhh this is so offensive" "owww I am very saddened by your racist comment" but no. You're going to learn how worthless you are. Your "feeling" will be that you're pathetic because it is so obvious that you world is narrow, reactionary and intellectually unsophisticated. End of Story.

There is whole schools of thought/study based on these concepts. It's called sociology. Yes, culture is wide spread and prevalent and no one is above it, immune to it's effects or otherwise. Even subcultures that differ from the mainstream are usually structured around or against the mainstream culture.

Do you think a bunch of evil babies just happened to be born a few decades before Nazi Germany came into being?
