Charlie hebdo is mostly unfunny, is never self-deprecatory, and is equally culpable along the Islamic fundamentalists for the November attack.

The same people here who, on principle, find it disturbing that a cartoonists would create a caricature of a dead child, are the same people who think it's inappropriate for Gaga to have a number one dance song about the epidemic of rape on college campuses.

If you don't like to be challenged and upset by art then go binge watch the latest season of Keeping Up With The Kardashian's.

Honestly cannot see the problem.

Cartoons like these are always a bit offensive.

But also, judging by the behaviour of many of these asylum seekers and migrants, it's not far from the truth. You only have to look at how they treat women.

Good point. I also find it more shocking that freedom of speech is being threaded upon or even denied worldwide and no one is upset about this.

Well freedom of speech without anything to back it up is stupid, but things like this are fully rooted in reality.

The likelihood is that the kid would have grown up to be like any other Syrian man.

Disgusting comments are expected about the dead child, stereotyping and generalizing by the same individuals who cry when someone calls them racist and whine about the discrimination because of their white skin. They're blinded by their white privilege. I was just yesterday looking at the list of major criminals in Birmingham, rapists, murderers, drug dealers, majority white British men. Some uneducated, some even lawyers.

But you will never see anyone saying this is how many white Brits are, lowlife criminals. No one will attack tomorrow next white British person because they saw white criminal in newspapers. No one will judge "white community". No one would dare to draw an image of Prince's child and say he'll grow up like worst British criminals, because as someone would say it's not far from the truth, that's how many of them are.

Charlie Hebdo has always been disgusting, but people here justify it with "satire". "It's suppose to provoke". Well it provokes disgust that people find mocking dead kid funny, innocents are dying because of some selfish idiots and it brings out dislike for any person who think their "humor" is clever.

It is dark humour. That is all.

Some find it disgusting, but some find it funny. Me and my friends were playing 'Cards Against Humanity' (Google it if you are unaware) and one of the cards was Madeleine McCann.

Things like these are meant for provoking and to get a reaction.

In my messy era.

This is another ridiculous generalization. I find it "appropriate" for Gaga to have a number one dance song that can raise awareness about sexual assaults in campus. It is a positive cause.

On the other hand, this caricature is not only a caricature of a dead child !!! It uses the memory and emotions of tragic death of this kid that whole world saw for its own benefit. More than that, they literally say  "this kid was going to grow up to be a rapist, glad that he died."

What a travesty, trying to manipulate the subject with a rudimentary logic. Challenged by art ?!?!
This is about humanity.

Wow. Did you think about the possibility that there might be Syrian people on this forum ?

I have no idea about who you are; but I have so many ideas about how low your eq is.
You might say why you attack me right now and sh*t. Let me put it this way:

Your country is in a civil war because of the reasons you could not control. You are trying to escape your country to save your life and your family: your spouse, your mother, your father, your children, your siblings; they are all going to die. Then you flee the country, travel in disgusting standards. You have an opportunity to make everything better, you take a risk you overlooked on; and as a result of it, your child dies. Another thing you can't control: some people of your nationality who ran away from civil war sexually assaulted people. You have no power over it. And because you came from the same place, ran away from the same civil war, and are from the same country, a caricaturist draws the body of your dead child. And that caricature mocks the memory of your child, and say that your child was most likely to be a sexual offender. This is called empathy. See how it feels when it happens to you.

I do not even mention that you literally put all syrian men into the same basket, and literally meant that syrian men are, by default, sexual offenders.

I'm against censorship, and while I think their joke is vile, they should have the right to post it. You don't have to go buy it, or subscribe to it, but you shouldn't take away their natural right to free speach.

Freedom of Speech does mean right to say whatever you want !!! Treat your ignorance. I am about to go crazy because of peasants like you.

THIS IS 100MG EMPATHY FOR YOU:

It's black comedy with a politically charged agenda. I don't agree with the inclinations of it but it's using two well known events to deliver a punchline. If you take it more seriously than it is, either agreeing that yes, he would become one of those men that mollested the women in Germany or "I am so outraged!!1" then it's kind of done it's job at stirring people up who can't view a piece subjectively.

...and? Your point is that people's feelings should be protected. My feeling is that the culture of people from that part of the world is degrading to women . Why would this kid be different if he'd lived? He wouldn't. End of story.
