Did BTW impact Society?

I was feeling nostalgic and decided to revisit a bunch of BTW era videos and interviews and whatnot and noticed the obvious: Gaga, monsters, and the general public had very high hopes for the album not just musically but also on a social level.

Gaga at one point said that Born this Way was so very important to her as a record not only because it was an anthem for her fans who felt like pariahs in some form or fashion, but also because there was hope that the album's message would be heard around the world and help society change (bullying, LGBTQA+ rights, equality, acceptance, etc.)

Flash forward to now: Did the album impact people and society like how it was intended to?

Yes gay rights didn't exist before GaGa. I'm so glad she made us all equal once and for all #bornthisway

I sing Born This Way at karaoke, and everyone usually jams to it harder than when I karaoke her other songs (in straight bars nonetheless)

it has a great message and really was different than her older work.

I think after the Gay rights movement disappeared from the Mainstream after the 70s/80s/90s she brought it back.

It was a really good move from her after TFM to deliver this message when the world looked at everything she did twice, if BTW would have been her ARTPOP (in sales and media turning on her and stuff), it would have changed nothing.

YES ... The message of the album was heard worldwide and still is .. The song is not only known as one of Gaga's signature smash hits but the message is still scene everywhere .. I have seen tons of LGBT rallies  where people are carrying 'Born this way' hoardings or wearing Gaga tee's with BTW written on it .. so Yes , it had and still has that impact on the society ... I personally believe that it's a song for humanity .. for everyone ..

''No matter Gay , straight or bi .. lesbian , transgender life .. I'm on the right track baby , I was Born to survive''

Personally .. It'll always be my favourite Gaga album .. Love her for this

Born this way .. Born to be BRAVE :)

well it was only after the song that the saying "I was Born This Way" became a massive cliche tbh

& it obviously did because her message encouraged us as fans to support gay marriage votes, repealing DADT and more so indeed it did imo, and not to mention it was banned in some countries and the fact she had terrorist attack threats of her Jakarta shows an impact

Born This Way created gay people. The LGBT community didn't exist before Born This Way. Queen.

I don't really know but I guess BTW has re-popularized the LGBT community (it would've lasted longer if the Judas-The Edge of Glory combo mess hadn't happened though:neyde:)
