Like several other outlets, FX is more inclined to look at their shows through the lens of delayed viewing. Under the barometer of Live + 3 ratings, last week’s AHS: Hotel saw a 123% among the 18-49s and a 115% lift in total viewers. Over, the run of AHS: Hotel, up to and including last week’s episode, the show has averaged an 87% jump among adults 18-49 in Live + 3 ratings and moved up 83% in its total audience. That viewership has been around 5.62 million in the DVR metric with 3.78 million in the key demo.

To pull back to a larger perspective, according to FX, AHS: Hotel is averaging 10.5 million total viewers across all linear and non-linear platforms. Looking at digital streaming in isolation, AHS: Hotel is up 21% in viewers over AHS: Freak Show – so maybe in a season or two we’ll be seeing AHS: Online?

First day views mean **** these days. With the option of recording a show and watching at a more appropriate time, ofcourse it would be more popular to do it this way. It's so good to hear that it was very successful.

:applause:This is very great news!:applause: Gaga was a perfect fit for AHS and she, together with the other cast of the show, gave it their best this season. I am so happy it paid off because people who don't normally watch AHS have tuned in this season! We have gaga to thank for that for sure and the haters who tuned in who want to bash her acting but couldn't because she got a GG for her acting.

those are INCREDIBLE ratings especially from a cable network it's no wonder it's FX's highest rated show + trended worldwide for each episode

this is the type of show that young adults watch and watching it live is no longer what this group tends to do- just goes to show they should consider other online options for them to watch I wouldn't be surprised if it jumped to 15 million

This.  I used to have basic cable in my room up until about a little more than a year ago.  Ever since my family switched to DirecTv, it's been super convenient to record the show, especially when I'm unable to watch the live showing due to work, and I can even watch the show 3 hours ahead of schedule.  It also makes more sense, since the demo (18-49?) or whatever consists of people that are in college and/or are working opt to record the show.

So all the haters calling this season a flop based on first day ratings can shut their mouths and see if they can make a successful show. :lolga:

Exactly! Prime example right here.

I don't know how popular DirecTV or any other system where recording is a thing was last year for Freak Show/any other season of AHS. Since it's only getting exponentially bigger now, it obviously makes sense that first day ratings are lower and recordings are higher. With the ability to record the show, it actually means that more people can actually view the show because they don't have to watch it at the live viewing. They can simply press series link or whatever and have it automatically record and they can watch over the weekends or at a more appropriate time etc.

God I love receipts to throw into the faces of those saying that the show did terribly. It actually slayed harder than any other season unfortunately for you so stfu thanks :lolga:
