While the song’s potent message of resilience (and Gaga’s added star power) are undeniable and will definitely sway voters, only one song from a documentary has ever taken home the Oscar before: Melissa Etheridge’s “I Need To Wake Up” from An Inconvenient Truth in 2006. Regardless, voters may feel like the frequently nominated and well-liked Warren is due for an Oscar. If this was a public poll where anyone could vote they would probably do that but this is more serious and I think they have to discuss and give reasons why they chose a song. It's not like "oh that's the girl with the meat dress she's ugly so I'm not giving her my vote". Also, Gaga has met the Academy members and performed TIHTY for them twice a couple of weeks ago. There are about 6000 academy members who vote so it's very unpredictable but I think the Golden Globe 'promo' is going to help......and Writing On The Wall winning Original Song is going to help Sam too.
