SEVDALIZA 1,274
it's so funny that y'all are so insecure of being little privileged f*cks that when someone points out the discrepancies and injustice happening they're automatically labeled as oversensitive and SJWs. nope, maybe y'all are just too comfortable in your privilege that you don't bother to see past your own reality. operating from another world
Morphine Prince 103,579
Hollywood is mostly white in general so this isn't surprising. This is a non-issue.
Stephen 30,339
For those saying this is just a "race card" non-issue, and that there were probably no actors of color deserving of nominations this year: Even if that's true - it's still a testament to the racism deeply embedded in Hollywood, that continually casts white actors for every god damn role - even in the roles of minorities Open your eyes. And when someone disagrees they are labeled as 'little privileged f****' You should try to form an intelligent argument rather than throwing insults around, it really doesn't give your argument any strength. Or is it just speculation... ... And the opinions presented by the other side have been called 'racists'. It's worked both ways in this thread. By your logic my local McDonald's are homophobic because there isn't a homosexual working there... Form your argument as to why it is racist rather than throwing insults because it makes you as bad as the rest. The statistics are in this thread, I'm not going to fetch them for you cause you can do that yourself and it'd be redundant. I am honestly not interested in your local McDonalds at all. It's unrelated, it's irrelevant to the issue being discussed. We're talking about recognition of talent and how excellent POC are constantly snubbed to give credit to OK or even mediocre white artists. but while we're at it have u been honestly asking every single worker at ur local mcdonalds about their sexuality or am i missing something here operating from another world
homomo 23,847
Y'all need to relax. People are looking for an issue in everything now a days. It makes me cringe. I'm embarrassed for half of you. 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111
JanPianoMusic 730
People who are upset about this clearly attach a lot of importance to the opinions of the AMPAS members. Just because a black actor or actress played in or directed an Oscar-type film, he or she should be nominated? I cannot agree with that mindset. The members of the AMPAS vote for whom they like. They shouldn't have to think "That actress is black and her performance was good so I am going to vote for her." The reality is that there are fewer roles for actors and actresses of colour and there are fewer female film directors and the nominations reflect just that. The films that have good performances by actors and actresses of colour and/or are directed by women haven't disappeared from the face of the earth. Not everyone can get a medal for participation. You will never please everyone.

Actually we were talking about being 'little privileged f****.'but I'm glad you're getting back on topic. My point with McDonald's is that by your logic the same could be applied to anything. ' They didn't include X minority' so they are racist/homophobic FACT. That's ridiculous. There is no fact at all, it's speculation. It's not speculation, it's a fact. the job market has many issues too but it's not the topic of discussion here, so i don't understand why you feel the need to bring it up. and i still don't understand how you know no homosexual people work at your mcdonalds like u clairvoyant? operating from another world
