This is a totally reasonable position :emma: Maybe there's a sentimental reason she doesn't? Given that spontaneity and impulsiveness can still pretty much be achieved with high tech equipment, im not sure what the argument really is against it *shrug* Seems reasonable to me. I actually didn't know BTW and TF/TFM weren't Hi-Res, though now that I think of it, its kind of obvious to my ears :smh:  (though maybe that's a cognitive bias :green: )

16 bit lossless is still true lossless.

The only difference between the type of lossless you're talking about is there are uncompressed chunks that are not detectable by the human ear.

Read this thread, it's very informative. http://www.head-fi.org/t/415361/24bit-vs-16bit-the-myth-exploded

Basically, unless the music is mastered so precisely, you won't ever hear a difference between 16 bit and 24 bit.

If we talk about ARTPOP and its mastering ITSELF. It was pretty terrible, because every song from the album was crazy loud comparing to her other work, which leads to the headache when you're listening to the album for too long.

These are the waveforms. The register made by PopRunTheWorld. The upper one is Dark Paradise by Lana Del Rey, and the bottom one is MANiCURE by Lady Gaga.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

her songs sound fine to me... what is 'hi-res' audio? 256 m4a or 320 mp3 tracks are good enough for me:rip:

Please correct me if I make any grammar mistakes, I want to master English as much as possible.

I actually do marketing/PR for a hi-res audio service (it's a direct competitor to HD Tracks) and definitely agree with your way of thinking.

We need HIGH QUALITY. 24 bit FLAC files please.

YES!! I dont just use HDTracks.com, I use other sites too. Some site's have better genre selection than others.

CD Quality isn't lossless. It's compressed to fit within the storage capabilities of the disc. CDs don't have the depth or replication abilities of Hi-Res because when the music is mushed together like that it loses it's original characteristics from the recording studio.

Someone should lose their job over this.

So I don't think outside a movie theater or something I've ever heard HD audio in my life...

Can you recommend a set of headphones that is close to your standards but not extraordinarily expensive?

And where is a reputable vendor of HD audio versions of songs? I wish iTunes would just make it easy on me and offer them.

I'd love to. Stay away from Beats anything... they are bass heavy and do not articulate an accurate sound signature and the soundstage is very narrow. For closed headphones I use these, and they are even on sale right now!

V-Moda is a relatively new brand, but the M100 is one of the most accurate sounding sets you can buy under 400 bucks.

Also, these are a GREAT first pair of high-grade headphones for anyone interested. They are like a gateway drug though, once you hear these you'll kind of have an awakening moment:

Audiotechnica

You'll need one of these too, iPhones can't drive them alone (give them enough power to make them sound their full potential). A small amp like this will give more juice to the headphones...

Just for fun, this is the most recent addition to my collection. They are unique because they are planar magnetic- they are OPEN AIR though so if you love bass it might not be a set you'd want... if you amp them though they have a good accurate kick.

No, if you want to talk about loud, it's gonna be Born This Way.

I mean the choruses of Born This Way, Marry the Night, Heavy Metal Lover, Americano, The Edge Of Glory

:rip: they are all GOOD songs but the production is so complex, I think there are like 100 instruments played in it. In ARTPOP it was cleaner and neater, more pleasant to the ears. Aura is a great example. Mary Jane Holland is the only loud one.
