Versace 7,959
Yes The Fame is a masterpiece if it's so basic to some then can you please name an album that follows the same formula , TF cannot be repeated. Without TF there would be no Gaga even if you presume that BTW or TFM is her best album they both had The Fame's impact as the backbone. Bad Romance and Born This Way would flop without songs like Just Dance and Poker Face. Gaga's other albums all evolve from THE FAME. It's a music industry game changer and the album that made pop music mainstream again.

gagzus 15,785
TF era was probably her best, she spoke with depth and made fun music and the era was totally organised. The artistic messages in it were genius imo
Serendipity 7,821
TF is more art than ARTPOP That's the truth See talent here-->http://bit.ly/2eqeUxK
Celina 118
I've never liked the idea of Gaga "going back" to any era, and I've always been there to support albums like BTW and AP when I felt the comparisons to her older work were becoming unfair, but I also don't agree with a lot of the criticisms that TF has gotten in response. That's the album/era that started it all, the one that gave us Paparazzi at the VMAs and LoveGame at MuchMusic and the first Gagavisions! It's when she was able to prove how clever and creative and resourceful she was. It's what first dragged me and a lot of others into this beautiful mess and showed us just how much potential a certain 22 year-old pop star with an affinity for bubble dresses and "disco sticks" could have (and I wouldn't have it any other way) and damn it now I'm nostalgic, thanks guys. Thanks a lot.

TF may have been more succesful than TFM due to its bubblegum nature, but TFM achieved to make Gags iconic, and so many people expected BTW to be like it. it wasn't laaaahv

REALITY 76,055
Was this topic not done in 2015? Anyways, I do think that The Fame is an artistic album, she's always been an artist, nothing has changed from her. I think what people mean when they say that "The Fame wasn't artistic" is when they're looking at it through the general public's eyes. As Little Monsters, we know that Gaga has always had an artistic mind, but to the general public, it only really showed through in ARTPOP. But I'd have to disagree with you when it comes to the differences, or rather, "similarities" both The Fame and ARTPOP have. While they both have incredible artistic meaning, I would say that ARTPOP and The Fame are similar in anyway. ARTPOP is who Lady Gaga is, it's an album that expresses her; The Fame has a completely different artistic meaning, it talks about her fame/obsessions with fame/fame in general, the meaning isn't like ARTPOP. That like comparing the Mona Lisa to The Persistence of Memory, two beautiful pieces of work, but they're different from one another. Quite honestly, I think this thread is just excuse to want FameGa back. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Mister Gaga 22,852
Lady Gaga's albums are artistic. All of them. At least for me...all of them have a meaning, and each song plays an important role in the development of the album's main concept (fame, monsters of fame, identity and equality, how pop culture can be applied to someone's life). The problem starts when you judge an album's artistic content based on it's commercial success...
JbGaga 2,261
Do we really need to talk about it? The truth is The Fame is an album of a decade and one of the greatest pop albums of all time.It spoke to the times of that generation and is timeless. (However im starting to think the people who were young durring TF are the ones not getting it.) There is so much genuis in that album. If Lady Gaga died tomorrow she would be remembered for that album above all others.

Yes but then again that means that THE FAME impacted both the next two albums because without TF's impact there would be no Fame Monster impact thus BTW would also not have impact it's like TF is the grandmother , TFM is the mother and BTW is the child and your telling me actually TFM is what impacted BTW not TF so it's like your telling me TFM is the mother of BTW yea i get that but without the grandmother the mother would not exist to give birth to a child it's such a stupid example lol but i think it makes clear sense
