StarstruckIllusion 52,330 Posted January 3, 2016 Share Posted January 3, 2016 When some say they want The Fame Gaga back, some of y'all are quick to reply, "oh that's generic af, Gaga is too evolved and artistic for that", and it needs to stop. Let's not act like Poker Face doesn't have a secret double meaning only monsters know of, and the absolute brilliant "cherry pie" lyric meaning from Paparazzi doesn't exist. The Fame's a conceptual album based on not wanting to be famous, but everyone wanting to know who you are. Plus the music videos are visually stunning and amazing-and I haven't even touched The Fame Mons†er yet. Real art speaks for itself, and the only artistic difference between The Fame and ARTPOP is the word "art" being throw around way more in the latter-don't be fooled. I'm not bashing my fav album ARTPOP, but almost every damn interview of that era had Gaga explaining in detail what it meant and people were still confused, so… also it's like why does this matter so badly? Do you know what was said from the pre-ARTPOP era? "Gaga can't go back the The Fame bc it's too generic and non loving yourself and ****." And do you know what we'll see during the pre-LG6 era? "The Fame Gaga is too generic and not enough *LG5 concept*, Gaga's a way more capable artist." Like... this is just so irrelevant and predictable. don't be so stupid to think Gaga can't serve generic bops AND art at the same time-you're severely underestimating Gaga's ability as a performer-for what reason? leave it in 2015. The faux cynicism acting as a narrative for people's obsession for fame and celebrities whilst feeding into her own fame through pop hooks and references is a concept that seems to escape people.
