I'm asking a question, if you have a problem then feel free to press the off button on your device, thank you.

It's not a question that hasn't been asked before, and you're not making a genuine point in the OP, you're just calling it a huge ass mess. Actually, If people bought the album more than they asked whether it flopped or not, it probably wouldn't have flopped.

Actually I listened to it for the first time in a while the other day and found myself liking it more than the last time I'd listened to it. Aura, Sexxx Dreams, Do What U Want and Applause still sound so fresh. Of course, it didn't live up to the hype and the entire era was a mess, but the actual music wasn't bad.

No, stans now a days just like letting numbers reflect their love for an album.

The era itself was a complete disaster but that shouldn't take away from the album, heh.

I've always figured it was the campaign itself people didn't like and the behind the scenes circumstances that surrounded it. As a pop album it totally lives up to her standards. Gaga has never disappointed me musically.

No. It's a great album imo. When the album came out everyone was saying stuff like "Omq it's the best album since fame monster yaassss!!1" but after the sales came they started hating on it lmao

This is what iv'e been looking at, like, ARTPOP's sales weren't that bad compared to other artists that year. To be honest I think that the DWUW video's absence wasn't as bad as anything else in the era that could have been seen as awry. I was just wondering what caused the constant cringing with ARTPOP and I think that maybe it was the most GP accepted song on the album didn't have a video to back it up.

Mister Gaga

Well, it depends on your taste. I became a fan because of ARTPOP :laughga:

The era was a mess, but the music is great imo. It's very introspective; there are some songs camouflaged as upbeat tracks that are really sincere (DWUW, Swine), while Dope, for example, it's to me one of her most sincere songs ever, along with TIHTY.

And obviously it has great care free bops ala G.U.Y., MJH and Sexxx Dreams. You know, the media really dirtied Gaga's image. That's why she needed C2C and the Oscars to clean it (and hell, she did). But if you listen to ARTPOP without any kind of prejuice, you'll find it really interesting and a gem in terms of production. I don't want to shade anyone, but other's faves could never bring something as dark as Dope, as introspective as DWUW, as fun as applause or G.U.Y., and as abstract as ARTPOP in one album.

Gaga did it.

...I bought ARTPOP many times :green: + the sales weren't bad with ARTPOP. I have horrible articulation skills, pardon me.

if you haven't gotten the message of the album by now, i can't help you

I have gotten the message, my intended question was what is everyone's cause for how they feel about the entire thing.

The album was good but still overwhelming compared with her other albums. The era was a mess tho.

i don't think you have gotten the message because you are still basing your question on the feelings of everyone else, ARTPOP is sonically musical freedom from the constraints of pop music and its critics, its not about how we feel its about how you feel

Bette Davis

The bones of it were good and if executed properly, it would've been great. I think she just chose the wrong producers, management, stylist, directors, photographers, etc.

You enjoy listening to the album huh???? so that's not a mess. It was all Troy Carter's fault.
