The Album Has Sold Nearly 3 Million Copies Worldwide ARTPOP Is Fantastic Perfect I Love It From Start To Finish

Well hardly 3 million copies, I would say 2.5M shipments which will eventually be sold tbh, but lets not talk about numbers. It was #1 US, UK Canada etc so it wasn't a flop in terms of a real flop, it was a flop in the eyes of the fans who expected BTW numbers and 1M+ sales first week which didn't happen.

Nevertheless, the album has so many amazing songs. My favorite ones are Applause, DWUW, MANiCURE, MJH and Gypsy. Those songs I ADORE omg one of Gaga's top songs for me. So yeah, I was unhappy for a certain period during the ARTPOP era but I can't blame Gaga, she had too many negative things going on.

The chart position of album doesn't relate to quality.

I was talking about the commercial performance which leads people to hate it. Either way it's a great quality album.

As an era, it was a mess and we only got two music videos.

The album had many gems and a lot of potential. It only flopped because of bad management or lack of any real management. The tour did decent and the performances were good when she actually did promo.

It's not awful, but lack of video and single is really bad.

I think ARTPOP should've been another TFM and only be 8-9 tracks. Most/some tracks are deletable and I edited the album so it's around 7-8 tracks.

yes and

It's not so horrible like "Britney Jean" but it's not a masterpiece like "Born This Way" :neyde:

It was not very bad, it was fun songs and euphoric, but it was not an art experiment or transgression, as fans seem like we were led to believe at the beginning. It seems the most superficial of all and I do not like superficial, especially if you are leading me in by declaring that it is about ART.

and I am a fan of Andy Warhol's Factory, not HIS art, so do not try and school me about art. I liked the album , but not the deliverance. Fun dance songs mostly.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Well, the era was a complete mess all along the line. First, the broken hip; then, all the Perez Hilton buzz, Gaga being depressed, the Troy Carter mess, the lack of promo and videos, barely any nomination, everyone calling Gaga flop, the DWUW never released video (although I'm glad she didn't release that video)...

The album itself wasn't a bad album, I love it, in fact. Okay, Born This Way was better,  but it's not that bad as y'all claim it to be. People should stop acting like this is some cheap crappy album that sold 50k WW. There are people who like it and it's annoying to see everyone dragging it 24/7.

The era had some good things (not a lot but some). Some performances were very good and we got the artRAVE livestream. I think Gaga pulled off some of her best looks. There were lots of good ideas that sadly weren't executed the right way.

I don't understand why people want less tracks. The most tracks, the better. Just don't listen to them if you don't like them

ARTPOP is her worst era but her best album.. Gagas music needs to be fully be expressed visually to enjoy the songs and it did not have the chance to do that.

ARTPOP as an era had a few hopes brought up and then put down again, but other than that I see it as a really wonderful album cycle. We had some unforgettable moments like Swine Fest (which massively influenced me), SXSW, Gypsy in Berlin, the whole artRAVE tour (her most immersive and interactive show to date I'd say), Roseland etc etc... I could go on, but the point is so many people look at it from a managerial point of view. Why?? Numbers and figures are for her team to look at, we as fans won't be directly making money or anything so why does it concern you so much? It's not like Gaga will ever be in danger of going bankrupt! :laughga:

Listening to ARTPOP through my headphones on so many journeys, or in bed at night, or just in the background, that music was always there for me to return to, just like BTW, TFM and everything else. I think the album offered some of her cleverest work to date and, for me, the title track is nothing short of a religious experience.

The ARTPOP app did sort of fade away, and plans mentioned during the end of the BTW era never came to fruition, but why should that ruin everything we DID get? One of the biggest examples used is the DWUW video and tbh I 100% stand by Gaga in not releasing that video because, based on the clips, it almost entirely invalidated the purpose and message of the song - she wasn't in a happy place while filming it and I didn't want to see that.

ARTPOP was utterly spectacular, we saw more of her soul and creativity than ever before and the music and performances are something I'll continue to return to for many more years to come - in my eyes at any rate, it was a success and a monumental thing to be a part of.
