I'm sure that in the next era she'll release good music and amazing videos as always, so she'll get views. :yay:

Aren't a lot of these views fake though? A lot of numbers don't mean much anymore since labels are doing whatever they can to make their artists #1. Look at all the fake Twitter follows, IG followers, and so on. It's more marketable when your artist is the top _____ or has the most _____.

Had Gaga have her peak now and release Bad Romace, Telephone, etc., she'd have plenty of views. The problem is that she hasn't released a pop video since G.U.Y., and by that time no one wanted to sit through a "film".

Well, the difference comes from the evolution of the way we consume music. 2010 getting 100m was a thing. Then in 2012-13 Gagnam style happened, and now what 1B+ videos are expected to be at least several per year... If her next single explodes like her previosu material, she will cross 500m easily. If there was a way to adjust the numbers from 2009-2010 to current ones, Poker Face, Just Dance and Bad Romance would have been at like 1,5B+

this is why

Well, see how dynamic it is. The first answer to the thread states that at number 87 is Perry's ET with 318m. The comment is from 29th Jan. 2015. In less than a year and the 87th place is taken with 492m. YouTube is growing bigger and bigger, so at this point it's like comparing a Sony Ericsson K750i to a Galaxy S6... :lolga: But I admit that it scares me how time flies. Gaga is so fresh in my mind, and yet she is almost an old school star, or at least we can easily say she is an established and settled one. I vividly remember when she swept Europe with Alejandro. It was so soon, right? Oh wait yeah 6 years ago. :air::deadbanana:

Gaga hasn't been the queen of Vevo for a long time. Rihanna's held that title for the last 5 years or so and 1D are probably the kings. They've got the most subscribers and overall views.

But I actually think Gaga's views are good considering how long ago these videos were put on the site and considering that some of her later stuff has had questionable longevity. Remember that Gaga started out back when Vevo was just starting out. Back then, using YouTube to view music videos uploaded by an official channel was a new concept. People didn't eagerly wait for the countdown to a new video meaning that breaking a 24 hour viewing record wasn't even a thing (that didn't even get introduced as a record you could break until around the time of Wrecking Ball or thereabouts). People didn't watch the videos over and over like they do now. They also weren't as likely to rate the video. Its only recently that YouTube has become the #1 way people listen to music, so naturally, views are much higher now and they increase every year. Vevo introduced the award of 100 million views in a time when this was a big deal and very few videos were achieveing this milestone. But these days, if you don't have several 100 million+ viewed videos, you're a nobody. Also, ratings went through the roof. Back in the day, to get 1 million likes on your video was unheard of and considered a major achivement. Nowadays, it's the norm to have several if you're a big star (or even if you're not). It's actually very common to have 2 million likes or more on a video now, even ones that have just been released, even ones that aren't big hits! Basically, Gaga had the disadvantage of releasing all her videos early. If the likes of Pokerface, Bad Romance and Born This Way were released today, they'd have a ton more views and likes. It's just that when a video is so old, a lot of people never watch it again and they certainly don't see the point in giving it a like. That's why these songs have so much impact but their views and likes don't quite match. It's kinda sad that out of all her amazing videos, Gaga only has 2 that have 1 million likes or more meanwhile ny piece of s**t released today can get 1 million likes in a couple of weeks. But remember that she has one of the best ratio of videos released/100 million views achieved. Only 5 out of her 15 singles are yet to hit 100 million (Eh Eh wasn't even a single in most of her world either). That is a much better ratio than most singers.

But things are beginning to look up. The fact that she managed to get 1 million likes out of Applause despite it not being a major hit and having limited impact is very telling. She's getting more views than she would back in the day for this. And G.U.Y has over 73 million views (and that's just the long version) and close to 500k likes despite it being a certified flop. If she can do this with an underperforming era, just think what a well thought out album rollout could do. It will also increase interest in her older videos too. This new era's views and likes are going to look so dramatically different to her old stuff, it'll almost be unrecognisable in comparison.

Gaga ain't about basic a$$ music video concepts. If views is what she wanted she would either get butt a$$ naked or cater to the kiddie pool

Her views are ok. not impressive overall but not as bad as you make it look like. Bad romance is over 640M views and she has countless certified ones

Also the views standards have changed a lot during the past 7-8 years

I remember Britney's womanizer being one of the most viewed videos with almost 100M before being deleted and reuploaded later.

And now if you don't hit 1B you are a flop

come on now... this is stupid
