This performance has so many awkward silences:air:

Some didn't even need to be censored

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN THAT'S THE GREATEST THING IVE EVER SEEN :air:

I don't think censorship is that bad though, it's better than not having televised performances at all, or worse, having to make all art family friendly in the first place.

I don't mind it when it's deserved. But like here and especially ARTPOP (I mean, is there a better example of undeserved censorship) it's just pointless and it actually ruins the performance (reminds me of Kanye @ the BRITs this year). So in a sense, it's almost like sabotage :neyde:

Well, I do have a big problem with censorship. Especially America's problems with nudity. I think as time progresses, though, we'll have less and less problems with cussing and nudity. It's all a matter of generational progress.

Maybe they should invent something for live performances where you can choose for a censored and uncensored performance using an option on your device. Childproof it if you want. I don't know, something like this.

As Gaga said early in her career: it's ridiculous that people are offended by nudity (and curse words and **** like this) while people are so unoffended by other things like the filth they put in commercials these days. Gaga used Times Square as a symbol for what really should be offensive: mass brainwashing.

No. Censorship is necessary because some people do take offense to foul language. You wouldn't talk that way around an old lady or child, so that's why its censored on non-cable channels. Especially in the morning when the whole family is up and could be watching tv/listening to the radio.

It's science, bitch

but as a 15-year-old teenager, I want music to be censored because personally I don't care to hear a bunch of dirty crap in a song, no matter how catchy the tune is, I want an inspiring message.

You have a lot of growing up to do if you think that censoring other peoples freedoms to keep your simple mind at ease is okay. Not only is it a terrible idea, but part of growing up is experiencing new fronts and ideas. If your ideas on the right words, the right sexual motives, the right toxicity, the right religion (or lack of religion) aren't challenged, then you're living amongst shills for your own ideas. That's just a depressing and repetitive life.

I suppose it is the right of all the people living in the United States of America to have the right to voice their own opinion whether it be wrong or right. If the goverment were to censor the lyrics in any violent or explict song it would be a very large violation of the first amendment.

Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.

Music lyrics should be censored not in the intent to downcast the creativity put into each song, but to better moderate the filth modern day Americans are exposed and influenced by through the lyrics of drugs, sex, cursing, and mocking religion. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of awesome songs out there with encouraging messages, but as a 15-year-old teenager, I want music to be censored because personally I don't care to hear a bunch of dirty crap in a song, no matter how catchy the tune is, I want an inspiring message.

We also need to look out for the younglings. :derpga:

Have you ever actually listened to a Lady GaGa album? :air:

What's the point of this? Music will be almost always be censored on TV, and if you want an explicit version of the song that's available to you...
