Jewish man attacked, Muslim women comes to his aid

A 24-year-old Jewish college student was punched at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, an attack police are investigated as a possible hate crime. The victim, who was wearing a yarmulke, turned around and was reportedly punched twice, in the face and the stomach. When asked why, the suspect allegedly said, "I don't like white and Jewish. Leave the school, you Jew."

The suspect, who is black, fled through the building's main entrance. Detective are trying to determine if he is affiliated with the college. The victim declined medical attention. The incident is being investigated as a possible bias attack. One of the other students, who is Muslim, came to the victim's aid.

"The fact that a Muslim woman came to the defense of an orthodox Jewish man is a true reflection of the values that permeate this great institution," Medgar Evers President Rudy Crew said.

This is a moot point because someone trying to spin the story another way could say "the fact that a black guy assaulted an orthodox Jewish man is a true reflection of the values that permeate this great institution", which is obviously, and equally, false.
