Uzbekistan? The sound is very similar to that of the Levant. I'm honestly surprised.

It's Sherqi Turkistan (East Turkestan) to be accurate but yes we do bare a tremendous similarity among the stans and ultimately to the rest of Middle East because we do share the same root.

Brazilian music is a weird thing...for the longest time we had such great music, but after the 80's things went down-****ing-hill...there are a few exceptions, but in general current music it's just embarrassing...the music I like is very "folky" and friendly, even if the lyrics are incomprehensible I think the melodies are nice and the arrangements are effortless and organic...it's kinda sexy, kinda sad, kinda weird :laughga:

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

As of now he's the only Portuguese artist I find interesting :ohno: Maybe I'm not looking hard enough cause I'm so focused on the international music scene

This year we really got portuguese music having some air on national radio. Contrary to Spain or Italy it's always American music.

This must be the greatest hit this year

Popular music in Portugal, this days, is a mix of traditional music, urban music called "Fado", some blues and indie sonorities. Metal and pop also embrace eachother without prejudice.

Honorable mention, some Dancehall tune called "She breaks my neck" (no comments)

...When will American mainstream, tbqh!!??

But this is so not what's popular here, unfortunately...I mean, if it becomes soundtrack for some TV show, maybe, but as a rule this is consumed by "trendy" upper middle-class minority...

I won't direct you to what's popular here cuz it's embarrassing - and Brazil is embarrassing enough as it is -, but things are baaaaaaaad here :laughga:
