Israel buys most oil smuggled from ISIS territory - report

lego

Featured Posts

Kurdish and Turkish smugglers are transporting oil from ISIS controlled territory in Syria and Iraq and selling it to Israel, according to several reports in the Arab and Russian media. An estimated 20,000-40,000 barrels of oil are produced daily in ISIS controlled territory generating $1-1.5 million daily profit for the terrorist organization.

The oil is extracted from Dir A-Zur in Syria and two fields in Iraq and transported to the Kurdish city of Zakhu in a triangle of land near the borders of Syria, Iraq and Turkey. Israeli and Turkish mediators come to the city and when prices are agreed, the oil is smuggled to the Turkish city of Silop marked as originating from Kurdish regions of Iraq and sold for $15-18 per barrel (WTI and Brent Crude currently sell for $41 and $45 per barrel) to the Israeli mediator, a man in his 50s with dual Greek-Israeli citizenship known as Dr. Farid. He transports the oil via several Turkish ports and then onto other ports, with Israel among the main destinations.

In August, the "Financial Times" reported that Israel obtained 75% of its oil supplies from Iraqi Kurdistan. More than a third of such exports go through the port of Ceyhan, which the FT describe as a “potential gateway for ISIS-smuggled crude."

“Israel has in one way or another become the main marketer of ISIS oil. Without them, most ISIS-produced oil would have remained going between Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Even the three companies would not receive the oil if they did not have a buyer in Israel,” an industry official told the newspaper "al-Araby al-Jadeed."

I wanna add that oil revenues are only a very small portion of IS' income. They get most of their money from stealing from their own citizens (under the guise of shari'a of course).

But it's a reality. I remember that the European Union was revealed to also have bought oil from al-Qaeda a few years ago. Definitely an intriguing and hilarious subject.

ISIS gets more than 3 million a day in revenue from selling oil in black market.. also sharia taxes are only 2% of your yearly income and it must go to the poor. ISIS steals from its people by using taxes just like how all countries in the world do including the US.

"Whoever gets their hands on the oil, water and agriculture, holds Sunni Syria by the throat. At the moment, that's al-Nusra," Landis said. "Europe opening up the market for oil forced this issue. So the logical conclusion from this craziness is that Europe will be funding al-Qaida."

I'm not talking about normal sharia taxes. IS does not use normal sharia taxes. I'm talking about how IS exercizes their power to close down businesses and drive people out of their homes (taking possession of everything, of course) when citizens of their "state" break the law, even in the most irrelevant ways and if they didn't, extortion is used and sharia fables are made up (Reuters estimated that this system of added "taxation" and exortion alone was worthy of almost 400 million per year). They have also learned from al-Qaeda how to kidnap people just to get ransom. In 2014 it was revealed that for al-Qaeda this procedure had raised 125 million in five years. They also sell antiquities, organs, agricultural products and human beings.

From what I know the 3 million was a number for the total revenue for IS in 2014 per day. Their oil revenue has dropped dramatically since increased U.S. intervention cut oil capacity in half.

And I don't really understand what support for U.S. taxes has to do with this. IS blatantly steals, which is common knowledge. Not sure if you're trying to defend them or not.

lol you think im trying to defend them? You claimed that ISIS steals money through taxation and while I agree that it is theft and stealing, I wanted to question why you think American taxation is not theft as you support taxation in America (im assuming). I am against all kind of taxation and thats why I commented this way so no need to accuse me of supporting ISIS!

I'm not accusing you..

Now I know where the question came from. Though I still think it's odd, since that is most obviously off-topic lmao. I have no shame in admitting that I think all major governments are corrupt, including the U.S. and taxation is a ludicrous concept, but one that has to exist when people choose to rely on outer authority.

I just thought you were denying that IS' (added forms of) taxation were theft.

Ok thank you :) and yes I believe that what ISIS is doing is theft.

Who ? Israel is not a person.

I am sick of all this ridiculous discussion. Who buys oil from ISIS ?

Individuals. And sell it to other individuals. People are not f*cking states. And the thing is that idea leaders know what I am saying, it is the international diplomatic view. Ignorant hoi polloi who cannot do anything better than sitting on their ass are talking about these random words in comments section of every single website.
