Illuminati

If anyone was a fan of American Horror Story before season 5 they should know that throughout the season and especially at the end of each one Ryan Murphy leaves clues to what the next season title/theme is going to be.

Have you noticed anything that stood out? Any ideas on what the show theme could be next season?

By the way, if you're curious about previous season hints

Spoiler

(Found this on reddit)
Hints for Asylum found in Murder House:

There are references to sanity throughout the entire season, however this could be due to the nature of working in horror and considered happenstance. Some examples are Ben asking "Is everyone crazy?" and threatening to put Larry in an asylum early in the season.

Vivien actually ends up in an asylum towards the end of the season. This is an obvious and well-known hint.

Billie Dean also talks about the energy in places like "prisons or asylums".

Towards the end of the season, when Ben and Tate have their final conversation and it's focused primarily on forgiveness. Additionally, Ben tells Tate "I'm not your priest" and says that he can't absolve Tate for his sins. This is interesting to me because there is a heavy religious theme in Asylum, and Jude struggles with the particular theme of forgiveness and redemption. Is this a hint or simply coincidence? Ask Ryan Murphy, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Hints for Coven found in Asylum:

Early in the season, Dr. Thredson calls the priest who performs the exorcism a witch doctor.

The songs "I Put a Spell on You" & "Love Potion No. 9" can be heard from the jukebox in Asylum.

Sister Jude tells Kit that she doesn't need a hat to fly her ass out of the asylum, alluding to her being a witch the next season.

Lana wore ruby slippers during the Name Game, which hinted to witches in the Wizard of Oz.

Monsignor Timothy Howard points out that cremation is a pagan practice, in regards to Mary Eunice. This is interesting to me because Lily Rabe's Coven character, Misty Day, starts the season being burned while her Asylum character ended that way. This may just be one of those coincidences though.

When Lana leaves the Asylum there is an overhead shot of the Asylum's front entrance that appears to be in the shape of the Minotaur's head, seen here.

Hints for Freak Show found in Coven:

The word "freak" was used quite a bit this season, and whether it was intended as a hint or not, many consider it to be one. Examples are Fiona using the phrase "viral freak show" in reference to witches being exposed via social media in the first episode, Myrtle calling herself a freak when she is sentenced to burn the first time, Misty being called a freak in hell, and Queenie's shirt that said "FREAK" in large letters.

At one point Madison calls Nan "Mumbles the Clown".

Fiona tells Myrtle that "life is like a carnival".

Myrtle gave Kyle & Zoe tickets to Florida towards the end, which hinted at the setting of Freak Show.

The overhead shot of Myrtle's shadow while she was being burned at the stake in the finale appeared to create a clown face.

Queenie had a pair of elephant earrings. This hints more at a circus versus a freak show IMO, but since many consider this to be a clue and a circus is close to a freak show, I'll include it on the list.

This last one may be another that's just coincidence, but in the finale Madison says she's going "Back to Hollywood where everyone's normal", and the last bit of Freak Show is set in Hollywood, where Elsa pretends to be a "normal" superstar.

Hints for Hotel found in Freak Show:

The top hats were the big clue in Freak Show. This alluded the film "Top Hat" which was set at a hotel. Additionally, this clue alluded to Lady Gaga's involvement, as the song "Cheek to Cheek" is featured in the film and is subsequently the title of the album that Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett released together.

Elsa referring to her freaks as "little monsters" pointed to Gaga as well.

Stanley tells Elsa that his cousin works at the Garden of Allah Hotel in LA, and Elsa also clipped the film review for "The Garden of Allah" in the diner.

Sorry if this is an AP but I haven't seen anyone making a thread like this

I haven't picked up on any clues this season

I'm still hoping for AHS: Trinity or AHS: Oak Ridge set in the 40's about the Atomic bomb. Also the Roswell Incident happened in the 40's so... AHS: 51 or AHS: Roswell? ODK, I just want a season set in the 40's.

This could be a reach, but potentially it's set in the 1970's?

The kids have 1970's computer games:

The Countess loved the 70's the most.

Very possible there are other clues that have been missed, this was just at the top of my head...

I honestly suck at trying to conceptualize what next seasons of AHS could be about. I would have never guessed Hotel so at this point I don't even bother.

I forgot Space Invaders (arcade game ;))  was made in the 70's! I think this could be likely.

AHS : area 51 set in the 1970s and Gaga could play literally the government's (John Travolta) hooker.

American Horror Story: Cult

I feel like there are many religious references in this season and those may be the hints.

- The 10 Commandments.

- Mr March saying he is going to kill God.

- Valentino and Natasha referring themselves as gods.

- The whole creation thing with the virus.

Also I think it would be a good way to connect Murder House (the Antichrist), Asylum (the possessions), Coven (witches in general) and Hotel (the ancient virus and its origin).

OOO wait I just thought of one. Maybe it's a clue that they keep saying "bitch please". Maybe they're hinting to the other meaning of bitch, which is, as we all know, female dog. Maybe next season is about bitches, female dogs, saying "please" get me out of this dog show! So next season is confirmed. AHS: DOG SHOW

It certainly makes sense considering that the setting of each season alternates between the past and present (Murder House = Present, Asylum = Past, Coven = Present, Freak Show = Past, Hotel = Present), so if this pattern continues, then the next season will be primarily set in the past.
