I Want To See FameGa One Last Time

The fake accents started after The Fame, so.. And those were far more embarrassing.

And I always thought she was humble and down to earth, actually. I think people have a really skewed vision of what The Fame era felt like. FameGa would NEVER have said that the music industry should stop hiring people who don't write their own songs. She usually refused to talk about other artists or celebrities because she didn't consider it her business. Her personality in 2008 is a big reason why people cared about her: she was a passionate, talented woman who had something to say beyond her gimmicks. The idea that she was just being a robot and never saying anything substantial is a major fabrication.

The "fake" accent started in her Poker Face/Paparazzi era, what are you talking about :rip:

Of course she wouldn't have had said that, because she was a newbie in the game (no matter how much she studied fame and its games and tricks). She was sassy, but she knew exactly what to say to please the public.

And bye @ you trying to imply that people do not care about her anymore.

She's still a passionate, talented woman who still has and SAYS something beyond her gimmicks, even though she's more focused on her voice lately.

Except, she did act like a robot. It was obvious from her voice and clothing. But I think she did this on purpose to add a mysterious edge to her character.

Give me examples though, what kind of bs is this :rip: Yes, she altered her voice and she consciously held up a persona, but how is that robotic? To me that term implies that there's no intention or substance behind what she's doing. Which is why I hate that word in relation to The Fame, since there was more intention and substance and intellectual backbone than in any of her other era's...

I can't deal with people who say this is robotic

over this

You can tell she really has practiced a lot in the mirror to perfect faces/expressions but it's only made her look more awkward

I'm talking about her fake British(-esque) accents (most recently appearing in her Bakhu performance).

And I didn't imply that (though actually I would stand by it if I said it - she's a singer now, she's not an otherworldly pop icon anymore, and hasn't been for a very long time either). Sure she's still passionate and talented but in my opinion she hasn't been able to build on the genius in her early era, in which, like I said, she extended the boundaries of pop cultural performance into never before seen dimensions. She just gave that up to pander to her fans, creating a divide between her fanbase and the rest of the world, in my opinion directly leading to a decline in not only her popularity but also her focal position in the pop industry. Now she's just one of the pop girls, only superior because of her vocal talent, that's it. That's deterioration to me for sure.

She tried to be FameGa during ARTPOP but failed misserably

The make up was messy , bad wigs and her lips were puffier so it didnt look right.

Oh and the most important thing, her fierceness and her passion werent there.

Just look at the 2008- early 2009 fameball and TV performances ! She was on fire

Then in late 2009 she started to use a live band on TFB and started to act "monster-ish" and it went downhill.

I would say she was on fire because she was on Cocaine, she didn't had a hip surgery and she was 20. After years of doing that it understandable she is tired but look at the SXSW wasn't she on fire on that performance? Wasn't she on fire on the swinefest?

I guess, she wasn't robotic in a completely literal sense. A better word would be calculating. Her every move seemed calculated, precise, and preplanned. Her voice in many interviews was also very monotone. So I guess this is why many people call her robotic. Later on, specially starting with Born This Way, she became more wild and unpredictable rather than calculated.

I miss that drive she had.

I really think it was the hip injury, I think it made her realise she wasn't unstoppable. I watch videos of the Born This Way Balls that came after mine and it's like she was a different person and she was effectively lost for a while.

In her old performances and when I seen her, she DOMINATED the stage but not long before 2012 as over she started to lose that power? It's so hard to describe but it's like the drive was gone for a while.

I think it's coming back, she's been moving from strength to strength in 2015 so I think she might be ready to really f*ck the stage up again like she used to.

I love the DIY fashion of the early fame era. The discostick and the glasses... God damn it was awesome :flutter:

Alien Tulip

She was so REAL during the fame era. I'm sorry but this interview alone is more honest and real than most of the crap she says today

It's crazy that she was 22 year but was more level headed and didn't feel the need to patronize celebrities who don't write their own music. I personally thought she was more intelligent in her early 20s. I still love Gaga but I don't care much for her personality now I'm just looking forwards towards her next album which I hope it good because she hasn't been able to top the fame or the fame monster in my eyes.

legendary :applause:  sad that the fame era is hated here because of its success

Yeah now on GGD it's popular to say the best things are the ones who are selling the less (the ARTPOP / CTC effect lol)

To me TF and TFM eras were definitely the most creative and interesting..

She was very cool and calculated but that's what made her interesting. She was unpredictable, you didn't know what she was going to say because she was always shrouded in mystery.

After Born This Way through to the end of ARTPOP her interviews just became a checklist...

1. Mention love for fans
2. Mention art
3. Talk about position in pop music
4. Go home

Yeah but it's her career and obligation so if she wants to be successful she must be calculated and precise. It's not like she's performing in a competition to be your best friend. She's an entertainer. She should be professional, calculated and pre-planned.
