The Bush family has gotten filthy rich because of it's business in the Middle-East and Arab countries. They benefit from war and the oppression of women. In public, they made the Bin Laden name to the most hated name in the Western world, but in reality they made deals with them and both parties got filthy rich. Do your research.

Back on-topic and not in response to Economy: What disturbs me the most is that people here in in the West don't even know about this. And it's not just Saudi women, there's a lot more oppression of women, sexism going on in the world. You'd think that because of the internet, we'd have a more educated society but since the massive commercialization of the internet, it's rather the opposite way for most people. We've become even more obsessed with our yuppie culture, this time choosing to be either a yoga devotee or glamour puss on Instagram, rather than using the internet as the source of free information and opinions that it could be (or is to some people.)

While I'm all for freedom of religion, it is time we learn to look at Religion as food for thought instead of a law to live by. Religion has only separated us overtime while it's supposed to unite us. It hasn't. This isn't even Islam anymore, this is a chauvinistic country.

I was happy when i heard the Saudis made a positive move by letting women get involved in politics for the first time and I wasnt happy when Simon descredited all and said it wasnt real progress and went all negative

Iran says that transsexuality is a biological disorder that can be fixed gender reassignment so everyone keeps being straight... Simple logic... Homosexuality is just a perversion in state's rhetoric, if you wanna be with men, you need to become women they say.

OT: Saudi Arabia is known for being pretty backwards in their politics/society structure even in the mid-east. It doesn't help that many of their traditional customs is seemed to be held to the standard with how westerners view Islam/Arabs/etc. anyways, I think them even letting a small amount of women voting is still far better than having no women vote at all. The country has A LOT of issues they still need to resolve at the moment but this feat however small it may be is still positive.

The thing is that Woman Are The opressed minority there. It wasn't a personal attack. If someone wants to say that woman aren't so oppressed as their laws say, I want to hear that from a woman. 

I mean you can switch that into other things as well. Would you believe a White person saying Black struggles ain't real in the US? Or an Non-Jew saying World War 2 wasn't so bad for Jews?
