But not able to try on clothes we wanna buy, not able to swim, cannot do sports, not able wear make up is too much.

I disagree. Alone that just a small percentage of woman were allowed to vote+ those elections in reality mean nothing. It's just a promotional gag for Saudi Arabia.

bringing awareness of remaining issues is good. But reacting badly and shooting down good news then making such a negative thread right after taking away celebrating mood which is due given the victory women recently got in Saudi Arabia by going all negative to me is so innapropriate  

Yeah because we should now just ignore the oppression woman in Saudi Arabia, because the men in Saudi Arabia just allowed a few percentage of woman to vote into something that's not even relevant there  We need to hail protest actions of the woman there like the car drive pics there ,but they got forgotten

male guardian: Male guardian or mahram means a male family member that you cant marry like your father or brother but all women in Saudi even ones who dont have enough money have their own personal driver that is not a male guardian so this is false. My mother and sister are always out without my present or a male guardian!

Wear clothes or make-up: my sister and mother wear alot of make up and open their black abaya dress to show their cloths and do not cover their hair and this is how alot of women dress in Saudi. In some areas like in Jeddah, women dont even wear the black abaya dress.

Interact with men: All women in SA interact with men.. they even work together and go out as friends in public. There is no separate entrance for men and women but there is separate entrance for singles and families.. this is made so women can feel more comfortable and free from cultural restrictions.

Go for a swim: Women can swim in privet pools and beaches in a bikini and with men around.. if they want public pools, they have female sections everywhere. People here including men do not swim in public beaches but they are allowed to but women are not allowed to wear a bikini.

Compete freely in sports: What a islamic cleric says does not represent the country, its people or laws.. thats like taking what fox news says and present that as what America is! Women do compete in all kind of sports like in "Jeddah United Sports Company‎‏ "

Entering a cemetery: This is what islamic scholars say but my mother visits her brother all the time

Reading an uncensored fashion magazine: this was 15 years ago.

Try on clothes when shopping: completely false!!

I'm pretty sure some of these things are exaggerated but it's horrible anyway. 

I had a friend who was born in there and now she is living here in Seattle thanks to an asylum visa. She has told me about these things and it's honestly terrifying. The worst part is that the majority of them think it's "normal" to live like that.

Back on-topic and not in response to Economy: What disturbs me the most is that people here in in the West don't even know about this. And it's not just Saudi women, there's a lot more oppression of women, sexism going on in the world. You'd think that because of the internet, we'd have a more educated society but since the massive commercialization of the internet, it's rather the opposite way for most people. We've become even more obsessed with our yuppie culture, this time choosing to be either a yoga devotee or glamour puss on Instagram, rather than using the internet as the source of free information and opinions that it could be (or is to some people.)

While I'm all for freedom of religion, it is time we learn to look at Religion as food for thought instead of a law to live by. Religion has only separated us overtime while it's supposed to unite us. It hasn't. This isn't even Islam anymore, this is a chauvinistic country.
