umaru 155
I don't believe buying fur, leather, or animal fibers (wool, mohair, cashmere, etc) are bad as long as you are conscious about the source. Many of the videos shown are from countries that do not have any form of laws regarding animal welfare, so yes there is certainly cruelty out there. Though there are also many countries that do have animal welfare laws that prevent the cruel handling of animals. There are farms/producers who have humane practices and often local operations provide humane and ecofriendly products. And in truth, organic fabrics in truth can be considerably more ecofriendly than man-made textiles. For example, you may not be buying animal fibers, but more than likely the clothes you get at the mall are made of synthetic fabrics that cause significant environmental damage in production and are essentially made of plastics, meaning they are not recyclable/biodegradable. Even then, many of the non animal fiber clothes you buy can be made in countries where there is child-labor/inhumane labor laws. So, if you're not buying into animal products, you're likely just buying into another industry that can also have its own issues. In general, I think to be a smart consumer you should just look into the source of the product and choose producers that are humane. If you want fur, then buy from a humane supplier. Any issues regarding animal cruelty/environmental damage are faults of the industry and if you want change then attack the industry, not the consumer. Instead of bashing consumers, just let them know that with every purchase they should seek humane and ecofriendly sources.
REALITY 76,326
I don't get why people harass others for wearing the product. Yes, it's completely understandable in the sense that they maybe (consciously/subconsciously) advertising the product and saying "Yeah! Buy this!", but harassing people on the street is just rude and unnecessary. It's also completely hypocritical for them to harass other people for the sake of the animals. That being said, organizations like PETA shouldn't be going to random people/celebrities on the street and should protest the companies more. Tell the companies to stop, not people on the streets. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Zsolti 2,688
I don't agree with wearing fur either, I don't wear it personally, but it's not my business what other people do so I move on. Have you tried that? Please correct me if I make any grammar mistakes, I want to master English as much as possible.
RAMROD 109,385
She shouldn't tho. Besides, as of late, she was only wearing faux fur

Guest
I try to stay away from people who wear or buy fur, even after telling them that by wearing fur they are automatically supporting animal cruelty. How can anyone be in favor of fur? The process of getting it is disgusting. So yeah, Gaga and everyone else who isn't living in extremely cold places should stop wearing fur. We don't live in the stone age anymore, we can stay warm and feel rich without wearing dead, innocent living beings. Same goes for leather. Edit: We will probably never change the fact that animals will be treated as less (unless they are meant to be pets), but what we can do is be fully aware of where our products come from. The dairy industry for example is full of horrible and cruel animal abuse, but you can find brands that really do care about their fellow earthlings and treat them with the respect and love they deserve. Same goes for fur; there are countless ways of wearing something that looks similar to fur, keeps you warm and comes from a place where no animal had to suffer in the process! Sam Dey 1,847
I also am against real fur and i'd never wear it but i think gaga has the right to wear whatever the **** she wants and if she chooses to wear fur, i'm not gonna be saying she has to stop wearing it. JackTheTripper 866
There is apsolutley no reason to use fur from skinned and tortured animals, with todays tehnology and craftsmmasnhip, since sintetcic fur can have the same propertis, if you are into fur. If you are using, or wearing real fur-i´m sorry you are bad person, and you have no excuse. Having said that you shpuld also know That PETA is a horrible organization, End does not justify the means, they are cruel, unethical and pure mean... while i stand in favour of those that say that every form of human life deserve the right to live and be respected, PETA has proved with their actions that they are bullys and hate people. it is not jus opinion its common fact.... Support the organizations that deserve to be supported....

I know, and I realize that it's a terrible thing, but harassing people on the streets isn't going to solve the issue when they need to go to the companies themselves. You could just use fake fur, but I'm saying that there's just no point to harass other people who aren't directly involved with the situation. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Dayman 6,174
I didn't stop eating meat after see how animals in the meat industry are treated [which was honestly much worse in my opinion] and I probably won't turn into a an advocate against all fur after seeing this video, nor do I see why Gaga would. I eat meat and you know what happens? My body breaks it down and there's nothing to show for that animal in the end. At least with fur there is a lasting tangible object being left after the animal is gone. I get why some people are so extremely passionate about not eating meat or wearing fur, but using animals for materials has been going on since the dawn of human history. I know people like to say oh, we have evolved beyond having to do that though! Yeah, we also have evolved past having to use pictures to communicate yet look at emojis. There are many things that are just wired into society because they have always been a thing in human history - fur is one of those things and it will be a incredibly long time before it stops.
