I agree. Which is why I just spoke about being against animal cruelty. However, I am FOR the raising of animals as livestock, allow them a wholesome life and then a quick death when its time to become: bacon, fur, etc.

Also: im not against fur. Fur has been going on for thousands of years. Animals die, people die, for plenty of reasons, that's the circle of life. What needs to be stopped is the cruelty on the way they are killed.

Yeah i eat meat. But unfortunately most animals raised for meat are treated cruel. I would totally support raising a animals and then kill them quickly so they don't suffer and use them for food.

I personally wouldn't wear fur (if I wanted to) because there are such good faux options available there is no need.

BUT I'd never tell someone to stop wearing fur because it'd be hypocritical of me as a meat eater. In my opinion, both fur and meat are not necessities- we can live without them, but we chose to produce and consume them because we want to and because we enjoy them.

What we should be aiming to do is ensure that all animal are entitled to a good standard of living; meat-industry, fur industry, leather industry etc it doesn't matter, every animal shouldn't suffer when it can be avoided.

I think we've successfully found a reasonable place to agree. I support Gaga applying pressure on ALL sources of her fur to ensure they operate in a humane and professional manner.

Was going to post but this is how I feel in a nutshell.

Frankly, I think what we should really focus on is making sure all humans are living above the poverty line first and foremost.

But that's just me. I'm a human supremacist like that.

I think there is something important to be said here. I think being overtly emotional about this topic is not a good thing because if you actually care about this problem (which I'm sure you do) it's important to act in a rational way. Otherwise you will achieve nothing.

The emotional reaction is anger, frustration, and thirst for justice. And in this thought process it's very easy to start pointing fingers and blaming people who have nothing to do with the actual problem. This is what PETA does. They seek justice by harassing and humiliating people who have nothing to do with it, because it give you immediate satisfaction and comfort, feeling like you actually did something. This is Wrong. Demanding that Gaga stops wearing fur is wrong, and shaming her for wearing fur is wrong. (I understand that you don't do this, you're just suggesting something. I'm just pointing it out)
