Bad Bromance 5,809
I think it's horrific what they do to these poor animals but I don't agree with the way PETA is pushing their agenda in violent ways. How would they like it if Anti-PETA protestors harassed them in the same way they attack people who wear fur? Two wrongs have never made a right. As far as Gaga is concerned, she can wear whatever she wants! She's a grown woman and should be able to do whatever she pleases. How do we even know what she's wearing is real fur? I seriously can't tell the difference. Is everyone 100% sure she's wearing real fur? Can we be so sure about Gaga wearing real fur as we're sure that she was won 6 Grammys and that she collaborated with Tony Bennet on a jazz album? I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

SEANGT 5,385
that video was gross but I still don't really care tbh. Give me an angle on the issue where it affects humans and I'll be down to care about stopping fur. EXx: The meat industry is a top contributor to greenhouse gases/global warming and all the hormones they use hurt humans. So I can understand veganism. But just animal rights to stop animal suffering....I feel like why should I care?
shoful 13,304
Are these people stupid? Do they really think screaming in peoples faces will make a difference at all. They all look so ridiculous and they aren't helping any animals by doing that. They literally all sound like screaming drunk teenagers. They need to hold a panel and talk to people respectfully. You don't get peoples awareness by screaming in their faces. "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."

Well, yes, I remember she's made comments like the ones you mentioned in the past but now that she has dogs, has she changed her stance? As I stated in my previous post, Gaga is a grown woman and can make her own decisions. Would I personally ever wear fur? No, but that doesn't mean that I should go around imposing my beliefs on everyone else. I believe that PETA has every right to protest but they shouldn't harass people and they certainly shouldn't push their agenda on everyone else. That is where I draw the line. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
PartySick 161,533
Does she even wear actual fur anymore? Didn't she say she switched to faux a while back? Also, @Alien Tulip brought up a good point about things like this. A lot of you have a problem with her wearing fur (which is understandable) but why no thread about her wearing leather? Also, do any of you know if she uses products that were tested on animals? Or if those products are from companies that test on animals? I feel like the argument would be stronger if it weren't honed in on one specific part of the issue but I could just be splitting hairs here. Anyway, if she does still wear fur I hope she stops soon. Animals being killed for food is just nature (even in our unnatural ways) but killing for fashion is senseless. Especially with cheaper alternatives that look just as good. All they manage to do is alienate and shame the people they're trying to convince. They don't want to help animals, they just want attention tbh. Luckily there's actual animal rights activists out there who get things done without throwing buckets of blood on people or shaming them on the internet. Anthagio 113
If she has to stop wearing fur then you have to stop using electronics that contain minerals that are mined by child slaves who are abused and often killed for not doing a "good enough job" and are then manufactured by Chinese work slaves who make pennies an hour. Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
There is a much better way to educate people about Fur is Murder than throwing paint at them and screaming at them. Stupid white people all we ever do is scream - but here's a blues clue for you- NO ONE IS LISTENING. If All You Ever Do Is Look Down On People, You Won't Be Able To Recognize Your Own Weaknesses. TiphEret 1,320
It's hard to take PETA seriousy they act like SJW loosing it on tumblr (not having an issue with SJW but with the ones loosing it). I would never wear fur personally, I always associated with being an old French lady living in the posh district of Paris and fuc that. I can't stand animal cruelty it makes me want to punch people and I am not a violent person. In an ideal world we wouldn't use fur or we would it would for absolute necessity like if we live in Greenland or something, so yes it bothers me to see Gaga condoning animal cruelty by wearing fur for fashion that for me is the worst reason of all. Like seriously? Go kill a kitten to make yourself a scarf and let's see if it feels good to be fashion. But it's as useless and frivolous to me as killing animal for meat because you like it when you live in a wealthy society. Same goes with testing ****ing make up on rabbits... Eros92 2,513
This whole fur thing is really tricky... Back in he day killing and skinning animals for their fur was a survival trait to keep warm. Over time of course it became fashionable with a higher demand and that meant of course needing to breed more animals for their fur. Now to me breeding animals specifically for fur isn't different from people breeding cows, pigs or any other animals for food or clothing as long as it's done humanely. And of course people are going to tell me that how they acquire the fur isn'always humane and thats probably true and that also applies to how we get our meat. So what should be done is set up more laws and have higher standards for the way the animals are treated its that simple. Now in Gagas case do I think she should stop wearing fur? No, it's her choice. Do I think she's a vile human? Of course not. I don't look at someone who's wearing leather or eating a cheeseburger as a terrible person. It just happens to be how life is. I'll probably get a genuine fur stole sometime in the future. I'm not killing animals, and my purchase will mean nothing compared to everyone else's purchases. It'll make little difference in the fur industry at all, so I'm not going to feel ashamed. I'm not suddenly increasing the demand of fur. It's a marginal difference. LOL Do you even understand the most basic of economic principles? Supply and demand: if you buy a fur stole, the store you bought it from will order another one to replace it in its inventory. It may even order more than one, assuming that demand will rise rather than remain constant (as it so often does, particularly now as our economic recovery continues and more people can afford to buy luxury goods). The supplier will need another animal corpse to make that new stole, which requires killing another animal. Even buying one single stole contributes to the industry. Your actions have thus led to the death of an animal. This is really, really basic stuff, and nearly everything you said in your post is incorrect.
