I don't really care for the woman. Not only because of the BTW/EY thing but it goes back to feuds she's had with MJ, Janet, and just coming off as a nasty person :green: but you can't watch that video of a crowd of people huddled around her singing Like a Prayer and Imagine and say she's overrated or not loved. Her legacy and icon status can't be denied and to still be at the top of the pop world at nearly 60 she has to be doing something right

Totally agree. I used to be a huge fan as a kid/teen. Started with Ray of Light. I watched every old interview I could get my hands on and was always intrigued by how guarded she is. She is always in control. This makes her a less interesting artist to me, because of the wall she build around her, she doesn't really convey passion and emotion that well. It doesn't come naturally like with Gaga for example. So her nasty side to me seems like a defence mechanism. But it does strike me that she kept it up so long. Also after hung up I felt she got too concerned with scoring hits instead of making innovative pop music like she was doing before that. Succes seems a bigger motivation for her than her art.

Also didn't like she had pretty much no connection with her fans before, not even at shows. That has changed tremendously. My friend just danced with her on stage the other night and Madonna was a bit akward but also very sweet to him. I just wonder why it took so long for her to defrost.

Ok I'm rambling haha, sorry. Only had 3 hours of sleep and have been up for 20 hours now.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Rambling is the best :sara:

Your friend's so lucky :ohno: I'm still holding out hope that she'll impress me one day and I'll turn into a Madonster.

I think Lady Gaga is overrate because she is constantly praised for her creativity.

Madonna wasn't really inspired by musical artists. Just a couple (Marilyn Monroe as one of them). instead she has channeled models and actors of the 30s on up in her videos and fashion. I don't think Madonna is overrated at all. if anything, i think her artistry is underrated because if you look on youtube, her videos are below the 100 Million mark while Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston have several vevo hits. she may not be one of the best singers but she has a nice and soothing angelic voice. she is still an OUTSTANDING PERFORMER and she is an "old woman" with a fit and flexible body that moves in places that your mother probably can't. And you say gaga was more creative in her 7 years? i beg to differ. Madonna has had very strong ongoing acclaim and racy performances, reinventing herself 6 years straight. Gaga's done a lot as well in her 7 years but i don't think it was as strong as Madonna's

Honestly, I feel like no artist (female to be exact), could reach Madonna's level of impact and legacy. She is the legit blue print for most of the female pop stars today.

She was one of the pop artists of her time, no she's not overrated. In my opinion though, I think she's trying a lot of be relatable to "young people". I love her older songs like Crazy for You, Into the Groove, and Vogue. I'm not a huge fan of her new music though.

To some extend some fans do go too far saying that she did everything first :rip:

Again I'm not generalizing the fan base as a whole but I've actually seen comments like this on many sites.

Try listening to her entire discography while reading wikipedia pages about her songs. She's not overrated. Only the queen can make a song like Erotica a top ten hit like seriously.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

By her stans **** yea but I suppose that's how it is with everyone's stans. I would say no in general, she's still very polarizing after all this time and I imagine it won't be until she passes that her talents and contributions to the world are truly appreciated, unfortunately.
