Coldplay's New Album First Album Not to Go #1 in UK

Coldplay's latest album A Head Full of Dreams, is their first album not to go #1 in the UK. All of their previous six albums, Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, X & Y, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories, have reached the top of the charts. Who blocked Coldplay from #1? Well Adele, of course. However, the good news for Coldplay is that their latest album actually sold a considerable amount more in the UK than their last effort Ghost Stories. A Head Full of Dreams sold 236,000 this week, up from Ghost Stories' first week total of 168,000 copies. Its also important to note, that these are really huge numbers for UK sales. 

 

According to HDD, Coldplay will also see this album be their first album to not go #1 in the US since their sophomore album in 2002. In the US, however, A Head Full of Dreams' first week sales will be about half of what their last album's sales were. Ghost Stories sold 383,000 copies in its first week and A Head Full of Dreams only sold 198,000 copies.

That sucks. Although "A Head Full of Dreams" does seem to be a really rushed sounding album. Hopefully the'll come back with something incredible after a good long hiatus.

Well it's just my opinion but the album is meh, the only song I like is the lead single... Maybe explaining the sales
