Not that I in anyway agree with Trump or this idiotic statement he has put out....but police officers are different since they put themselves in harms way to protect citizens  of their city or state. Their job is to serve and protect, and put their life on the line while doing so, which is different than most occupations. 

And yes, there are some that are assholes or that do the opposite of their sworn duty to citizens, but the majority are there to keep you and your family safe.

All monsters from US, guys, please, be rational. Your (as in all US citizens) choice is fundamental for world politics, as much as I wish the world didn't depend so much on your country. he's just all talk, this would never hold up in the legal system. It would be considered unconstitutional. He has to remember that just cuz he's president doesn't man he's supreme ruler. There's two other branches of the government that keep a president from being a dictator.
