Thought you might be interested Here's hoping Gaga's taking notes and planning on asking for a collab Uhm, no That's not how jazz standards works. The best songs were sung by many artists and sometimes it became very popular through a popular singer or a great special voice, like for example Frank Sinatra. Tony Bennett does the same today with jazz standards, he introduces jazz to a younger audience through Gaga. Some examples: Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered is original from the Rodgers & Hart musical Pal Joey. I've Got a Crush on You is from Broadway productions. Lee Wiley recorded it also before Sinatra. Even New York, New York was original sung by Liza Minnellis in a film. Frank Sinatra has interpreted them, as Tony does it today.
